Shellie has a wonderful teaching style and you feel like you can do it all. The classes flow extremely well and she is incredibly knowledgable and you feel like you are in a safe pair of hands. Truly top notch and I am already planning to continue with group classes and on a 121 basis.

Shellie is a fantastic yogi with a wealth of experience. She explains what all of her classes are going to focus on and never makes you feel under any pressure. I started with her Yin class nearly two years ago and was hooked immediately. Her classes have grown and developed into a great little community of fellow yogis who always enjoy getting together on our mats and at the end of every class, leave feeling rejuvenated and full of energy. It’s great being together in a lovely studio and Shellie has somehow managed to keep that same warmth in her classes whilst switching to online sessions. Fantastic yogi Namaste Shellie 🙏🏻 x

Shellie is a beautiful instructor in every sense. She’s clear with her instructions and very intuitive to each individuals needs. She has a kind and calm approach but also a sense of humour. She is thoughtful and professional but does not take her self too seriously. I persuaded my partner to attend her classes too, he was very sceptical but absolutely loves it, he has a physical job and it has helped him enormously both physically and mentally.

Meet Shellie

Hi I'm shellie, Ive been practicing yoga for around 15 years and I can't wait to get to know you a little more and welcome you on your path to wellness. I believe yoga is a complete holistic approach, having suffered ill health and injuries myself I am more able to relate to my clients, it was my journey through M.E that allowed me to deepen my practice and inspired me to become certified so that I could help others. My aim is to provide you with a practice that is both holistic, creative and enjoyable, to lead you towards a mindset where you are really engaged in the joy of the process, (the journey) and not the end goal of a pose (the destination). During your classes you will discover something new to keep your enthusiasm for this beautiful practice and way of life going, wether that be a new mantra, mudra, perhaps a poem or a new way to get into a pose, at the same time there will be practices that will be familiar, this enables you to deepen your connection, and carve out positive habitual patterns. I have been told that my style is creative and has an honest approach, which is real and human, bringing out a sense of enthusiasm in my students. There is a huge emphasis in my classes on pranayama (breath work) and I aim to offer more than just a physical experience. I continue to learn so much from my students who always inspire me, along with a keen interest to continue to learn from my own teachers through further study. You won't see me wearing the latest Lululemon gear, or teaching you to stand on your fingertips, but you will feel tremendous benefits to your whole body, physically, mentally and emotionally. I'll get to know you, learn what your likes and dislikes are, and as our relationship grows together I'll discover what it is that will best serve you in your practice.

Online group classes - Block of 8 classes is £35 Studio class in Lichfield - 6 week Beginners course £49 Mondays 6:15pm (next availability Jan 2021, please enquire to reserve a place) 1-1 Classes are available online at the reduced rate of £100 for a block of 4 lessons. Please enquire for couples rates. I am now offering 1-1 at my home near Rugeley. Staffordshire £140 for block of 4 classes. 1-1 classes at your home or a location convenient for you £160 for a block of 4 classes within the Lichfield, Stafford, Cannock district. Mileage applies for outside this radius. Wednesday Online Pranayama & Meditation club is priced at just £10 per month.6pm live on zoom Live Online yoga benefits: No petrol costs No parking costs Less time involved. Practice from the comfort of your own home. Better than a video or ‘non live’ platform as you still: Get to chat with other members Ask questions & build a relationship with the instructor. Your still making a commitment, to practice at a certain time with intention. Often with ‘non live’ platforms they just become another search engine! And there is a lack of connection.
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
When working 1-1 A questionnaire will be sent out to you, so that I can learn a little about you, what your goals and aspirations are, anything you are currently struggling with at the moment etc. We'll than arrange to have a chat on the phone. I will plan your first session around this, and subsequent sessions will evolve as our relationship develops and through mutual feedback at the end of class. Please feel free to join in group classes when you are ready, a basic confidential questionnaire will be sent to you when you start.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
200hr ytt hatha yoga - Jeevmoksha, india - yoga alliance accredited 50hr yin yoga - arhanta yoga, India - Yoga alliance accredited 20hr Yin & Meditation & 20hr yin & Pranayama - CPD Yoga alliance accredited 150hr Meditation teacher training - Centre for Holistic Medicine. 50hr Ayurveda - Centre for Holistic Medicine.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
Have an idea of what your objectives are, these do not need to be written in stone and will no doubt change and evolve as you work with someone, but it will help you to choose a teacher who is the best fit for you. A chat on the telephone or face-face will always bring you greater clarity than words you read on a site, it will give you a much better feel for deciding if the teacher is someone you think is in alignment with your goals and intentions. Like wise you may not be sure what it is you want, you may just have a feeling that you need some support, space and a little 'me' time, please feel free to pick up the phone or drop me an email and we can have a no obligation chat.
What are some good examples of past customers?
I have worked with people with generalised anxiety disorder who have seen amazing benefits from taking some time out in their week to focus on themselves, and are now able to put into practice some of the techniques they have learned. I have also worked with clients who have had fatigue and depression as a result of a long standing illness. What I see shine through the most is the empowerment it brings to be able to take ownership, that ability to create a time and a space that is just for you, it frees up so much space in the body and mind that the client literally feels lighter, along with an increased level of joy and motivation.
How did you first get into this line of work?
I had practices yoga on and off for around 15 years. Some years ago however I developed ME (also known as chronic fatigue syndrome). I began to research how my own practice could deepen and help me. Unlike other physical activity the right types of yoga had an extremely positive effect on my body and mind. In particular the more classic & restorative practices. This inspired me to train as a yoga instructor and I feel blessed to have had a life changing experience qualifying 2oohrYTT in India under the amazing guidance of Jeevmoksha Gurukul. I then went on to attain my Yin yoga teaching qualification with Arhanta yoga school, Madhya Pradesh, india. I have since taken a further 40 hours in Yin and pranayama/meditation, and 150hr Meditation teacher training. I have personally experienced the difference yoga can have on health and well-being and hope that my experiences will help others to see their own inner and outer strength develop and grow.
