Discover the healing powers of yoga for your mind, body and spirit. Through yoga, you will learn how to take control of your breathing and learn to shift your mental focus and awareness and how to condition your mind and body. My name is Shaka from Skies and Flora and I am a yoga teacher and I been practicing yoga with great dedication for over 11 years. My main practice is Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga and my training is in Hatha yoga all of which influence my teaching style. My goal is for my students to build strength, enhance relaxation and enhance their sense of wellbeing so that they can truly connect with themselves and reawaken the sacred space within. I am passionate about yoga as much as I am passionate about teaching yoga. I can personally work with you or in a group setting and create a programme that suits your needs and goals – my main priority is for you to enjoy your practice and to create an approach that is sustainable and manageable for you. For one-on-one session, I can provide the yoga mat, block, and belt. I also have discounted rates for block bookings on 5 or more classes. Shaka teaches us (a group of 3) beginners yoga once a week, and we made a lot of progress since we first started! She always tailors the glass to our needs, explains well and adjusts when needed. She also brings tools ( blocks, bricks, belts) which is quite helpful. We really enjoy our lessons!
I am new to yoga, however Shaka made the transition smooth and undaunting. I felt that she understood everything that I needed. We have been working together for a few months now and am loving it. My progress is great and it all due to shaka. She is an excellent teacher, interpersonal skills and responsiveness are top class which is what someone needs for this type of working relationship.
Awesome Personalised Yoga by SHAKA LISH Can not say enough great things about Shaka. She introduced me to Yoga and completely changed my life. She visited me at home for a hour long private yoga class. My work requires me to travel and sometimes work late hours, Shaka was able to arrange yoga session to suite my daily routine, so i was never under stress of missing a class or having to paying for rescheduling a class.I have done 2 session of 10 classes each and Shaka has always been punctual and never missed a single class.Not only is she knowledgeable, helpful, and thorough; she is friendly, warm, and a general joy to be around. I've taken yoga classes from Shaka for several months and really think she's fantastic! I would highly recommend her, not only for her strong technique, but also her amazing personality - always very positive, encouraging and nurturing. She also knows how to adapt the practice depending on my particular needs/interests. Shaka always makes sure there is a good balance between pushing myself a bit further in a pose, whilst also bearing in mind what is suitable for my body - I definitely feel in safe hands with her!

As a senior citizen with some health issues and many years since I last did any yoga, I was a bit nervous about taking a one to one class with Shaka but she put me at ease straight away. She was very gentle and relaxing in her approach. She made sure that I was comfortable with the positions and did not give me anything that I couldn’t have a go at. She is very knowledgeable about the history of yoga as well as being able to teach. I really enjoyed my session and felt refreshed and revitalised after it. I would recommend her to anyone, experienced or a beginner or a returner like me!
I was introduced to Shaka after expressing an interest in trying yoga and the experience literally changed my life. As a beginner I was obviously nervous as I ventured into the unknown but I found Shaka's relaxed, calming teaching style empowering which enabled me to approach my practice with relish. Shaka infectiously imparted her own passion for yoga and I am now regularly practicing on my own and attending classes! She has a fantastic way of communicating what she needs from you which has given me such confidence. She also introduced me into the importance of meditation, another area that has enriched my life on a daily basis.
