About Hollie Lindsay

As a qualified freelance personal trainer, I offer a bespoke programme exclusively designed to match your expectations and achieve your goals. Whatever your goals are, I will create a personalised plan that will challenge your body and deliver effective results within a reasonable time frame. I am also an Osteopath-in-training, and I am specialised in training older adults and pre and postnatal clients, and I always factor in the current abilities and lifestyle when designing my plans. As we all respond in different ways, I will amend my plan accordingly to complement your progress, so you gain strength and enhance your stamina. My service includes biweekly check-ins (photos, weight, measurements) as well as nutrition plans designed specifically for you. I offer one-to-one as well as small group sessions, and our workouts can take place outdoors, at home or your local gym. I am passionate about fitness and in motivating my clients to take control of their health while going further than they imagined to boost their fitness. I believe that fresh air, a fun workout and a good chat is priceless to sustain a healthy lifestyle in an enjoyable way. I have a physical job, but also suffer back and leg problems, so I was looking for advice on how to improve my core muscles. Hollie gave me great advice and training to strengthen my core, work on posture and strength in key areas, and improve my overall fitness. She’s a great communicator, patient, generous with her time, and always polite and professional. She’s very comfortable to work with, putting me at ease and making me feel relaxed whilst also showing me how best to improve the physical limitations I have. She’s a great instructor, knowledgeable and very personable. Excellent trainer.

After so many years of trying to get into a fitness routine that suited my lifestyle, Hollie seemed to find the perfect one for me. Being in my late 50s, I needed something that made me toned, burned body fat, but also helped ease all the arthritic aches & pains I have. I managed to keep my exercise routine going all through summer lockdown, with Hollie’s invaluable support, knowledge & advice. She always knows how far to push me without overstepping the mark, I suffered no stiffness or discomfort from the exercises she chose for me: I felt better than I have in years. I’m over the moon with the results; wearing clothes I haven’t fitted into for over 10 years. Just wish I’d found her 30 years ago! She’s been a godsend!

I offer: - Pay as you go - Packs (10 or 20) - monthly payments (eg 8 sessions a month, making it cheaper than paying individually)
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
First let’s discuss the following: - Exercise background - Injuries, mobility - Goals & motivations - Setbacks Then: - Do photos, measurements - Set up meal plans and time scale to reach your goals - Explain how the program will work and how each session will be done so you’re comfortable before you start as all of this can be quite overwhelming if you’re a newbie
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
- Level 3 in personal training - specialised in training older adults - Pre and post natal exercise and nutrition - Currently doing my masters in osteopathy
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
- Make sure you click with the person you’re going to be spending a lot of time with! So set up a call with them beforehand to see how you feel prior to signing up to anything. - Find someone that can motivate you in ways that speak to you. Eg: some people see shouting as motivating whereas others may find it uncomfortable if their trainer is always shouting at them!
What are some good examples of past customers?
I train a lot of office workers so I focus on strengthening and stretching areas which get weak or tightened due to long periods of sitting. I’ve helped a few brides to be get in shape for their weddings. I’ve had short term clients who wanted a quicker transformation & long terms clients who come to keep up general fitness (and for regular chats too!)
