About Hambleton Career Counselling
Hambleton Career Counselling is a form of personal development that enables you to perform at your best, improve your skills and achieve your optimum potential despite prevailing demands. It differs from career guidance and advice because of the types of issues concerned, such as problems that cause distress, thoughts, behaviours and emotions related to work that you could use help with. Using an empathetic yet impartial approach, I can help you to manage these issues, cope better and enable you to make decisions about your job and career in a supportive and systematic manner. Career counselling provides a safe and confidential space to discuss career-related problems or concerns that are upsetting, troubling, causing pain or confusion. If you are unhappy in your job, career counselling can help you to make a positive change. It is my philosophy that when your alarm goes off in the morning, you should wake up and look forward to the opportunities that the work day ahead is going to present you with, even on Mondays! Lee and his services are excellent - I really cannot recommend his career counselling highly enough. Throughout the 4 sessions that I worked with him, Lee was consistently attentive, caring, and thoughtful. As well as remaining totally professional, Lee was also extremely easy to talk to and relatable, which really helped to dig down into the important issues that we discussed. Lee's approach is extremely flexible, which really helps tailor the counselling experience to your needs. I was initially worried that 'career counselling' would not be particularly useful for my situation (University of Exeter student), but Lee's ability to draw out conversation and encourage self-reflection really helped me to proactively think about my future. Having experienced a range of the resources and techniques that Lee's program draws on, I can see that the dynamic nature of his approach would be useful for anyone, regardless of the situation they find themselves in. I now have a clearer sense of what I want to do once I finish university and I sincerely believe that the sessions have given me a better understanding of my key motivators and values, facilitated through Lee's excellent ability.
