About Di Glynn, You+ Yoga
Yoga is great for everyone: no matter how old you are, your fitness level, strength or flexibility, yoga will help improve all these areas in a way that's right for you. My name is Di from You + Yoga and I am a registered yoga instructor, qualified and accredited by Yoga Alliance UK. I have been teaching yoga for 4 years, helping people to gain a measure of calm, to de-stress, and have a full body workout to tone-up and build strength and flexibility. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, and I’ve also designed exclusive yoga programmes for those recovering from injury or illness, or individuals who want to improve mental and emotional wellbeing. I use many different types of yoga so whether you want basic hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga, zenyoga, yoga nidra, power yoga or a combination of disciplines, I can tailor something accordingly. I first trained with Zenways Yoga that included meditation and mindfulness techniques. A year later, I completed my advanced teacher training certification with Santhi Yoga Institute in Kerala, India. Both training courses covered anatomy, alignment and teaching practice as well as meditation and philosophy. I’m fully insured and, having worked for Children's BBC, I've been fully DBS checked. I believe in a very personal approach to yoga; busy public classes can be intimidating and they don't always focus on client’s specific requirements or alignment. But a personal class devised will help you find the right style of yoga that will precisely match your body’s needs. Whether you want to tone up and lose weight or build a calm and stable emotional core, please get in touch with me, I offer 60 or 90-minute classes with no increase in fee for up to 3 practitioners. I was a complete beginner when I started yoga with Di but I'd now have the confidence to go into any class anywhere. Yoga has really improved my mental wellbeing- as well as making me physically stronger and much more flexible (I couldn't even touch my toes when I started!). I've also lost weight - I've made many other lifestyle changes to help with this but I don't think I'd have been able to stick with them if it wasn't for what regular yoga practice has given me - i'm much more focused, calmer, and generally stronger and fitter. Di devised a programme that I could stick with, and over the last 10 months she's adapted it for me- it's got more and more challenging - and I love it! I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that Di has helped change my life!
Di is an exceptionally knowledgeable yoga teacher and has really helped me improve my practice. I've been doing yoga for years, but after 6 months with Di I've really noticed the different in my strength and flexibility. I feel like I've really toned up and can get deeper into postures. She's also helped me get into postures I thought I'd never do! (including crow which has long been my nemesis!). She spends time to understand what I want from the sessions, so I feel I've got more from yoga with her than I ever have before. She goes at a good pace and takes time to explain things when I'm uncertain - she's patient, caring and generally lovely.
Di is an exceptional teacher. She's hugely empathetic and knowledgeable and really concerned with catering to the individuals' needs. She is also able to change the focus/style of each class to suit each person (Often with very short notice sometimes and with conflicting needs!) I had a very bad back when I first started practising yoga, and over the last 2 years+ Di has really helped relieved pain, improve my core strength and provide me with exercises that I can learn and remember that have helped my pain enormously. Di is also a total pleasure to have in your home- She never makes you feel embarrassed or nervous. Her demeanour is incredibly reassuring and I value her classes hugely. She's a consummate professional and you know she always has your long term best interests and health and wellbeing at heart.
Di has been teaching my daughter, son-in-law and I, yoga for about two years now. We love her! She is such an impressive and skilled practitioner...teaches beautifully...always heck’s we are Ok as we go....pushes us ....but never too much...takes a huge interest in how we are as we arrive and leave the session...always turns up on time...is always client focussed...incredibly adapatable and always in a good mood! We simply wouldn’t trust anyone else to teach us now.
I’ve taken yoga in small private classes with Di for two and a half years. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about yoga, a communicative, thoughtful and considerate instructor, and an exceptionally friendly and lovely person. She takes the times to get to know each of us individually, and is always responsive to particular needs or injuries we want to address in class. From a total first-time beginner, Di has taken me to a stage where I’m comfortable practising alone and attempting some more advanced moves when in her class. Thanks to her classes, I’ve significantly reduced injuries and niggles from running and feel stronger and more flexible in the gym. I can’t recommend Di highly enough as a yoga teacher, and I plan on continuing our private classes with her for years to come.
With Diane's help I have learned to make the most of each yoga move, especially learning how to control my breathing technique to extend my movement. She has a gentle and encouraging approach which provides a calming environment in which to learn. She's an excellent teacher and also helps me deal with the challenges life throws at me.
Diane's skills make her an inspirational teacher. She is patient and observant. Always ready to encourage and gently correct. Her knowledge and understanding of the body is greater than any yoga teacher I have ever had. She's also lovely!
