Steve is top notch. He is a wonderful human, and so easy to talk to. He listens and then ask compelling questions that make you think about things that you are missing. He is a wealth of knowledge. Great!!! My business was growing but I felt I was at a ceiling, because I had so much to do. With Steve's support and guidance I realised new options and possibilities. I am now in a strong position of growth, do less operational tasks but working on the core purpose and values of the business. Business is good during and after COVID 19, thanks to the work we put in before the pandemic struck. Steve is very calm and a good listener, strategically sowing seeds allowing me to have a few light bulb moments. His always positive and keeps you focused on point. A few times he had to change to being a life coach which he did seamlessly. In terms of value I feel it was money well spent. I am working much more effectively, recruited more staff, and have higher revenue and profits. Stop, think and be patient is what I needed to do but I had no idea why, Steve helped me see the light and encouraged me to go for it! The money I had invested, I have received back and them some. Only wish I hired him sooner Good luck!!!

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
Everyone is different, and has unique requirements. There are discounts available for multiple sessions, and the first session is always free.
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
The first step is getting to know one another. Coaching and Mentoring is about people. Having a good understanding of one another, our respective values and the environment we live in is vital. The second step is to understand where you and your business is at present. By understanding where you are we have a good base point to launch from. The third step is to discuss where you want to be in the future. The fourth step is starting to build a plan to get you to where you want to be. Building a working plan becomes the blueprint that we work from in your journey. No plan is 100% fool proof, because everyday life gets in the way. The reason for the plan is that you understand the implications of your decisions. The length of the journey depends on you.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
The most relevant education and training is experience. There are many books you can read about starting and growing a business; but unless you have the scars from building businesses and understand the pressures that are involved you cannot be a good coach or mentor.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
Always speak to more than one pro. The essential element is that you like and trust the person you hire. The reason is that sometimes there will be difficult conversations and if you trust the coach you are more likely to understand his/her advice. The other thing is to understand it is your business, the coach is not there to run your business.
What questions should customers have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
There are a number of questions that you should prepare. 1. How long has the pro been helping businesses? 2. What type of businesses have they helped? 3. What size of businesses have they helped? 4. Have they any references?
What are some good examples of past customers?
Past customers include, an internet application company, a pub, a telecommunication company, a group of nurseries, a new magazine, an events company, a furniture company, a web-building company, a not for profit company, and a sales and marketing business. Some businesses were in the startup phase and were looking for funding, others were already established and were looking for ways to grow. A few were in trouble and needed to refocus.
Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?
I met the CEO of a company for a coffee to discuss what he was looking for in a Business Coach. The reasons he gave were familiar, his business was successful but he wanted to grow it. It seemed the business had hit a barrier, he was working harder but seemed to be standing still. We spoke about how he started the business and his dreams for the future. The ideas he has were fantastic, and there was nothing that was a stretch. Then we spoke about his daily routines and the reason for the barrier became apparent, he was spending so much time "in" the business, he had no time to work "on" the business. When we began our weekly sessions the first thing we concentrated on was building a Business Plan so that he could understand the actions that would need to be taken to get to the "dream". We developed a Business Plan and an Action Plan however, the other advice I offered was how to delegate work tasks so that he could spend more time on the strategic elements of the business. This was the biggest breakthrough. The result was a business that not only survived the Covid lock downs but thrived. The project is still ongoing, and the dream is starting to become a reality.
How did you first get into this line of work?
I have many years experience of building successful businesses. I started by building businesses for large corporate organisations that were headquartered in Germany and the United States. Watching these businesses grow from an idea to signing multi-million pound contracts was thrilling. I could see that what I was doing was not rocket science, there was a process that I could teach. One of my main drivers is helping people succeed, and this is what drove me to start my own business. There can be no greater thrill than watching people develop into leaders. To that end I wrote a book called "So You Want To Be A Leader", which is available on Amazon.
