I am a qualified, experienced, and passionate coach with a diverse professional background - bodybuilding, prepping high level athletes across a range of sports and mainstream personal training. In addition to my professional portfolio, I have also walked in the footsteps of my clients. In 1999 I tore my ACL ligament, I piled the weight on, only to repeat the injury 9 months later. I was 17.2 stone/109 kgs when I turned my life around, losing 5 half stone in 9 months. I have true empathy and experience for my clients having lived through this experience. Fitness, wellness and helping other to achieve their goals is my life long passion ! Having sustained a painful back injury during Lockdown I needed prompt and effective treatment and advice. My lower back pain was acute, and as a busy working mum I needed to be mobile again quickly. Chris coached me through a series exercises to alleviate my pain and discomfort. The benefits were great - pain relief and good mobility. Chris even gave me a plan to support my long term back strength. I recommend Chris without hesitation. Easy to talk to, knows his stuff and explains it fully.. The cost was also good. Worked out much cheaper than previous injury treatment options.

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
I have a variety of fitness and nutrition programmes available to suit every budget and lifestyle. I offer discounts on block bookings.
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
Each client receives a start up session to cover the below areas. Importantly, the session also allows me to get to know my client and start building a solid rapport with them. Areas covered during the start up session: Health and fitness history and present day situation. Past & Present injury, illness or pain issues. Variables assessment e.g motivation, barriers, self-efficacy. Client goals. Schedule Availability. Confidentiality. Client concerns/questions. After reviewing all the information from the initial consultation, I confirm the assessment with each client and discuss and agree the solution to reach their goal.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
WABBA Diploma in Advanced Training WABBA Certified Fitness Instructor levels 2 & 3 REPS Level 3 Personal Trainer. Fitness Consultant in Bodybuilding , Power Lifting ,Strength Training ,Nutrition sports rehab , prep & post pregnancy, weight loss . ISSA bodybuilding specialist. ISSA nutrition specialist.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
Once reserved only for the rich and famous, personal fitness training and nutrition coaching has hit the mainstream. Today, a personal trainer or coach is as common as a pair of trainers and a water bottle. Therefore, its It's vital to look beneath the surface and ask the right questions when hiring someone. For example, many people hire a coach based on what they look like which is often an inaccurate indication of quality. Almost anyone with little experience or expertise can print business cards , call themselves a personal trainer and take your money. I am being direct here as I am very passionate about high standards and ethics within this industry. So, I recommend you ask the below questions when chatting with your prospective coach and make sure you are 100% comfortable before you hire them because you are trusting them with your health, time and money. To help you I have provided a few questions for you to jot down and ask.
What questions should customers have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
What experience and qualifications do you have ? How long have you been in this business ? How do they train clients? How do they motivate them? Is there an assessment process? How much do you charge and how do you expect payment ? Do you have any testimonials or examples of your work ? What will you expect from me ? What are your passions outside of personal training and nutrition ?
Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?
Many recent clients come to get their fitness/general well being back on track after it has taken a backseat due to work , family life etc. The key to success for each client has been to gain a full understanding of their lifestyles including eating habits, exercise habits, what gets in the way of good habits and what they enjoy doing. It's all about building an effective exercise and eating plan that they will enjoy and stick to. Many people have needed strong motivation initially so my weekly check in's have kept them on track. It's a real shoulder to shoulder approach so that my clients build good exercise and eating habits to make long lasting changes.Its never about short term quick fixes that don't last. Clients have felt lost weight, gained confidence, got toned and increased their energy levels. Importantly they have gained life long skills to keep on top of their fitness and well -being.
How did you first get into this line of work?
Health and fitness has been part of my life as long as I can remember. From my childhood days through into my adult. Being healthy and fit in the right way has always been important to me. My decision to move into fitness and nutrition coaching came after a life changing event. In 1999 I tore my ACL ligament, the injury was devastating. I managed to rebuilt it only to suffer the same injury 9 months later. I was devastated, I was 17.2 stone or 109kgs . I made the choice to change my life around. I lost 5 and half stone in 9 months. It was tough and I learned a lot about myself, and the struggles people face maintaining their health and recovering from injury. The experience made me realise that I had so much to give other people to enhance their lives for the better. It started my journey as a fitness instructor and I have never looked back.
