If you or your child are thinking of learning how to drum, then my School of Drumming could be perfect for you. I’m Adam Bond, and a year ago I set up the School to provide high quality, affordable drum lessons for all ages and skill levels in the Working area, Surrey. I’m a professional teacher with a degree in music performance from the Academy of Contemporary Music. Drum lessons are taught one-to-one, either on a weekly or fortnightly basis in our dedicated music studio that is soundproofed and equipped with a full drum kit. Our friendly, patient, and professional teachers will help you reach your musical goals and guide you to play at a level you may never have thought possible. The benefits of learning to play the drums are many, and include: • Developing appreciation & awareness – you will build a greater appreciation and awareness of twenty first century music • Honing social skills & character – playing an instrument can be a great way to enhance a child’s social skills, and adults often develop lifelong friendships • Enhancing academic performance – it’s scientifically proven that children who are exposed to music or play a musical instrument do better in school than those who don’t. Adults can also benefit, as it will help your mind to become more alert and active, sharpening memory too • Relieving stress – music offers a creative escape, a path for artistic expression and emotional release. It’s proven to relieve stress and can be a great form of therapy. As you learn, we will focus on developing hand and foot techniques, musicianship and vocabulary, independence and coordination, sight-reading and transcribing. You will learn the basics of rhythm and begin familiarising yourself with the drum kit. Over time, the lessons will develop to cover drum grooves, fills, and other advanced exercises; every nuance of technique, musicality, posture, and setup is taught in great detail to refine your skills and become a confident player. Lessons are available Monday to Friday from 1 pm to 9 pm and are either 30 or 60 minutes long. Fees include travel costs, studio rental, use of the drum kit and PA system, termly report and a 28 day risk-free trial period. All drum and grade books are provided for a small extra charge. Do get in touch to find out about lesson availability and booking your first session. We can also discuss your goals for learning and how we conduct lesson evaluation. Look forward to hearing from you!

I have been having lessons with Steve for almost a month, he has been very professional at all times. I particularly found him responsive to queries, clear on his terms and flexible if lessons need to change due to commitments, his text message reminders about a lesson are also useful to ensure you don't forget. Additionally, Steve has been a great teacher, listening to what I want to achieve and tailoring the content of the lessons to support. Great job and I would recommend him to others.

I love music, that's what defines me. I do whatever it takes to be a good musician. I practice hard, always willing to go an extra mile in order to achieve higher goals. I want to be as good a musician as possible. While being a performing musician I had students everywhere. Some of them were children, some teenagers, some adults. I know how to teach, because I myself is pretty much self-taught. With my students I try to cover all the aspects of musicianship: technique, reading music, playing along with records and soloing.

Hello, my name is Tom Pybus. I am a drum teacher who teaches at student's houses right across Surrey. Having drum lessons at home benefits the student, having the familiarity of learning on their own drum kit and it also benefits the parents by not having to taxi their child to a drum studio. All information regarding my background, services I provide, prices and areas I will travel to can be found on my website. I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, my name is Tom and I’m a professional drummer, percussionist and teacher based in south east London. Having been involved in music since an early age I am familiar with a wide range of genres including rock, funk, soul, jazz, pop, latin etc. I have recently graduated with a 1st Class Degree in ‘Music Performance and Production’ from the London Centre of Contemporary Music (LCCM). I was previously awarded a scholarship and full acceptance to study at Berklee College of Music, Boston, but resided in London as the tuition fees were out of reach. LCCM has given me the opportunity to study under ‘UK Jazz Legend’ Pete Cater for 3 years and also drummer Richard Brook (ABC, Gary Barlow, Annie Lennox). I have also studied with many of the top drummers in the industry today. Some names include: Steve White (Paul Weller, The Style Council), Craig Blundell (Frost*, Steven Wilson), Ralph Salmins (Van Morrison, Robbie Williams, The Waterboys), Ian Matthews (Kasabian), Ash Soan (Cher, Seal, Robbie Williams, Billy Idol, Adele) etc. The knowledge and experience I have gained from my line of work thus far allows me to teach all styles, all abilities and work to meet the needs of the student. I can also prepare students for Trinity or Rockschool graded drum exams if requested. During lessons I will provide a practise routine for the student and will allow them to specify what aspects of their drumming they want to improve. From there we will set short term goals and evaluate their progress as time goes on. I have endorsed this method of practise for years and I feel it is the quickest and most rewarding way to gain knowledge and become a better musician.
