About Zaid Crowe, Guitar Lessons

Are you interested in learning the guitar? It’s one of the most universal instruments and a sheer pleasure to play. But learning anything new is challenging because we often come up with a lot of excuses before taking that important first step. Legitimate concerns like, we don’t know where to start; or that we’re either too old, too busy or too far from any learning centre often foil our learning attempts. I understand your doubts. But I’ve been through it all and I can say that learning how to play the guitar would be one of the wisest decisions you’ll ever make. I’m Zaid Crowe and I’m a professional musician with over 25 years of experience. Learning the guitar opened up a lot of opportunities for me and I’m hoping to share this similar journey with you. My credentials include more than two decades of experience working with live band and industry experience working for digital music productions both as a studio engineer and a skilled musician, employed by record labels producing world-renowned acts such as Pink Floyd and Radiohead. I’m also a professional tutor registered with RGT (Registry of Guitar Tutors), and I am also fully CRB checked (available upon request) for your assurance. I offer a variety of programme lessons for electric, acoustic and bass guitars, including the ukulele, all based upon your music interests, learning schedule, and knowledge level. Having no guitar is also not a problem because I often lend instruments students during each session. I primarily provide private (one-to-one) lessons tailored to individual needs but I am also open for group sessions where students can participate in fun, energetic jam sessions showcasing what they have learned. For those interested in progressing with their music studies, I also offer extensive music composition lessons and music theory lessons that enhances your technical knowledge about creating music. The first session is always free and, whether you still have doubts or you just want to try and see if my teaching technique suits you, the first session (any guitar type of your choosing) is crafted to show you the process of each lesson and the opportunities further learning holds. For your convenience, I offer classes at my Central Birmingham (Longleat Avenue) studio and, for international and home-based students; online guitar lessons conducted through preferred social media platforms including Skype, FaceTime, and Whatsapp. If you want an experienced professional musician to show you the ropes or advance your playing skills, please contact me.

Ms R.'s review on Sep 12, 2018

I was recommended Zaid Crowe by a member of staff at a local Music Store. Zaid Crowe is a friendly and approachable and jolly tutor.  His studio, which is eye catching and inspiring, is in a location served by many bus routes and train stations - it is easy to find.  The 80 and 8, X20 bus routes.  New Street Station and Five Ways Station.   I am an adult learner and knew nothing about music, so I have taken over 13 lessons- as a Casual Learner with the least academic approach.  The lesson timings are flexible, from morning to evening and weekends, these can be booked easily online with 48 hours notice and payment is made by Card or Paypal.   It is easy to book and when registered via login- you can monitor how many lessons you have had and when.  Any future appointments, you will receive an email reminder and options to add the time and date and location to your Outlook Calendar and Google Calendar.  If, you have bought a block of Sessions, your account will clearly state - how many lessons you have remaining.  Each time you book a session, you add notes as to what you would like to cover e.g. Posture, Ergonomics, Chromatic Scale etc.  He caters for all ages and abilities and is patient, which makes learning fun.  He understands that we all learn differently which might be because of a learners background and our personalities and characters influence how we adapt to new skills.   A bonus is that he is responsive via email and can provide supplementary visual and audio notes to enable learners to practice more confidently in our own time.  These notes are important to maintain the best methods of ergonomics, posture, dexterity of hands, arms and to maintain "muscle memory".  Notes might be an audio of your favourite songs, with a studio voice of "counting in" and "to rest".  Photos of right and wrong postures.  Photos of the anatomy of the instrument and a diagram of chords on the neck of the guitar.  Zaid Crowe has a range of guitars to choose from, so even if you have not bought one, you can get comfortable and he can suggest which to buy at some point during your learning pathway.  He has a range of books on hand, which he talks through.I feel very motivated after lessons and look forward to lessons.  Lessons have progressed well.    Now I am interested, in what I thought was daunting, "Music Theory". I am learning another Treble Clef Instrument: Alto Saxophone elsewhere. I would say Go For It.
