About Freelance Creative

With a masters degree in fine art behind me and many years working across the visual arts, multimedia and media fields, to the level of creative director for Saatchi and Saatchi, before focusing on video and photography and leading the multimedia creative production for King's College (university) London, Imperial College London and most recently Cranfield university, I am very experienced and well resourced to take on most 'arty' / 'creative design' / video and photographic projects. (I even create 3D models for 3D printing...) I have also been teaching and mentoring with traditional and digital creative / art classes for a number of years and providing workshops to companies and professional groups - (I have 4k and HD cameras, several Apple Macs, and two iPad Pros, together with apps such as - Adobe Photoshop suit 2019, {Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects etc; Cinema 4D, ZBrush, Clip Studio, Procreate, SketchBook, Poser ++) Having been born and 'raised' in Kenya (East Africa) and having worked and lived in several countries, I have long since had a heart for 'those in need' - so I remain actively involved in 'self-help' and empowerment projects, where and whenever possible. ...And finally, I might mention that I still paint - (mainly oils on large canvases - African wildlife and 'domestic scenes'). I also illustrate for games, books etc... https://rossillustration.weebly.com/ https://www.ricochet.pictures/

Questions & answers

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
My pricing is usually negotiable - depending on 'quantity', expected delivery time, who or what it is for, complexity and medium
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
I usually establish a good (and regular) working relationship - I believe in being transparent and maintaining very regular communications...
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
I have a degree in Fine Art and many years experience in the 'digital visual fields' - so I have substantial multi-skills and with a past role as Art and Creative Director, I believe I understand 'both sides' of this industry.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
I would suggest the first thing to do is see a portfolio and check out the background - e.g. profile on LinkedIn etc... - Sadly there are so many 'charlatans' and scammers online these days, that reliable recommendations are always suggested!
What questions should customers have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
... What will be supplied - i.e. a brief / storyboard / reference / past (successful or otherwise) projects ... Establish a budget at the start and terms of payment ... what final medium / size / quality is expected
What are some good examples of past customers?
I have many examples over the years - although I have not been with Bidvine before, so cannot give 'bidvine examples'...
Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?
Two recent projects that went very well: A. - 'SRM Health and Safety' animation project - (on my Vimeo account) B. - 'Magnetic child lock installation' - video and leaflet (also on my Vimeo account)
How did you first get into this line of work?
I have come through from an art college Fine Art background and have worked through all the areas of 'visual solutions' - including photography, video, animation, pack design, exhibition design. info-graphics, 3D +++
