About Sharon Vickery

Not all tasks are created equal. Some of them need your expertise and undivided attention; others you can delegate to someone you can count on like me. I’m Sharon Vickery, a virtual assistant, and I’ve been helping my clients get more things done by taking some of the administrative tasks off their hands. I’d be glad to do the same for you. I’ve been in this business since 2017, have a background in administration and office management, and have spent years in the leisure industry, health and social care, and recruitment. Currently, I’m helping my clients with email management, updating CRM, Mailchimp marketing campaigns, booking confirmation, transcription, and data entry services. Why not focus on tasks that’ll help you grow your business and let me take care of the rest? I offer a free 1-hour consultation to discuss your business needs and we can chat more about how I can be of service. Thanks for checking my profile. Please do get in touch and I look forward to helping you manage your tasks.

Questions & answers

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
Hourly rate is £28. However, I offer retainer packages for hours per month which are discounted. Audio transcription starts at £1.25 per audio minute
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
Free 1 hour consultation to start with and ascertain the needs of the client and if we are a good fit. Discuss terms and conditions, before starting these need to be signed along with an agreement. Share login details for any apps that I would need access to, commence work when all information is received. If purchasing a retainer pack of hours this is billed at the beginning of the month, if hourly you will be billed at the end.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
I have many years experience in administration and office management. I hold City & Guild certificates in various things, an NVQ in Customer Service along with a later life GCSE and A-level in Psychology. I am a member of the SVA (Society of Virtual Assistants) and like to keep my skills updated on topical subjects relevent to my industry so that I can help my clients and future clients.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
Ascertain that the VA you speak to can do the work that you require them to, make sure you have a quality conversation with them to ensure you are a good fit and that they can deliver the work within your deadline. Get the instructions right for them and make sure you know your budget and discuss this at the beginning and ask for a quote. A good VA will provide you with a proposal after your initial consultation so that everything you have both discussed is in writing.
What questions should customers have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
Be clear on what you want to achieve, do they understand what you want? Are they able to complete this project? What experience do they have in this type of work? What is their rate? Do they have the capacity to complete your project within your deadline?
Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?
I recently helped a department at the University of Exeter to transcribe some interviews they had recorded for a research project. I initially had 5 weeks to transcribe 30 interviews ranging from 7 minutes to 68 minutes, but this was increased to 40 interviews which took 8 weeks, all successfully completed. I have also just done a job for a digital marketing firm who needed information taken off of the old site and put into the new site that was being built, was given 5 days as the deadline and completed in 3. My longest-serving client I have been working with for two years, it is a self-catering, self-check-in holiday accommodation company and keep an eye on the bookings to ensure all queries are answered; organise the incoming invoices in the google drive and sort her inbox out.
How did you first get into this line of work?
On the suggestion of a coach this was suggested to me and I researched and decided this is the way I want to go in my life. I love my work and working alongside different businesses and learning about how they operate.
