About Sadia Masood - Nutritionist

I, Sadia Masood, possess a masters degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Sheffield. I am bilingual and would describe my written and spoken english as very good. I would say that i have very good communication and listening skills. I have worked as a nutritionist both in the NHS and for the local council in a big city. I have also attended nutrition well being sessions in the community, held in community centres, for a long period of time. I have had firsthand experience of nutrition as i worked voluntarily in a hospital nutrition department in a team. I enjoy working with people on an individual basis and in a group setting. I am very enthusiastic when it comes to working with people and helping them improve their health and change their lifestyle habits. This was the nature of my work when i worked for Bradford District NHS primary care trust as a health champion. I am great at timekeeping and making friends with unfamiliar public members. I would describe my approach as genuine and trustworthy, which is very important in this nature of work. Having an encouraging nature towards clients and being able to plan and organise workload is another useful skill for this job. I enjoy dealing with both straightforward and more challenging cases. It will be very interesting and eye-opening to work in a city like Bradford which has diverse patterns in health and living. I have computer skills too such as proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. In my previous employments i have also had to request food diaries from clients i have had interaction with and i have had to show them how to record their daily food and drink intakes. Then i have had to read and assess these records and give advice accordingly. The use of weighing scales was also an important part of these jobs as some clients had to be weighed . Communication over the telephone as well as face to face was involved in all of my previous nutritionist employments. Working within a team of other allied health professionals is also sometimes necessary for the nature of this work. Overall I am very passionate about being a nutritionist and the work which it entails.

I'm an intrinsically motivated person, I take great pride in my work as I love a sense of accomplishment. With this I am inclined to take on any challenge. University taught me a lot about myself, it tested my perseverance and it has created a lust for learning. I now have a huge need to give back,
