About Rosalind Jane Personal Training

I have ambition. I want to make a change. My mission is to help people feel good about themselves, to find their love of fitness and get them to really see the benefits you get from taking care of your health. I was a dance teacher for 10 years. I have 12 years experience training in Ashtanga yoga and am currently doing further qualifications in pre/post natal, exercise referral and exercise in older adults in order to help my clients further. I have had many successes throughout my PT career with people from all walks of life. You could be one of them if you sign up today.

I signed up to do a 12 week programme with Ros to get fighting fit and strong but also to learn weight lifting techniques so I could safely and confidently factor this into my exercise routines on the gym floor. Ros was by far the best person to pick for the job. She is fun, informative and every class was different, she also set the programme so I could see and witness incremental results at every stage over time which motivated me to continue. She made me feel like I could kick arse! I also swiftly got lots of compliments on how toned I was looking in a fast space of time. Because Ros comes from an electic background of fitness - yoga, dance, singing and gym - she had a rounded approach to all forms of exercise and how to get the best out of your body and mind. I'd recommend her to anyone seeking a trainer in a heart beat.

I have been training weekly with Rozz for nearly a year and a half and every session is different, even our remote sessions during lockdown. If I could have clicked on all of the above words to describe Rozz, I would have. She is knowledgable, professional, patient(!) and flexible in her approach to training. She watches carefully and picks up on the smallest of weaknesses. She is able to adjust your posture and position subtly, which in turn gives you a stronger connection and ultimately strengthens your technique, giving you better results. When there is a weakness, she can find different exercises and will adapt them to address those issues. Her attention to detail is ‘annoyingly’ thorough! Rozz is able to advise about nutrition and caters for your physical needs according to how you are feeling on the day. This in turn has increased my general confidence, wellbeing and has released a new energy. I fully endorse Rozz and cannot recommend her highly enough.

Rozz is the best personal trainer I have ever worked with and I really look forward to my sessions with her. She is very knowledgeable and uses that knowledge to actually put the 'personal' back into PT. She constantly works hard to support the goals you have set making sure to keep the sessions focussed and relevant. Every session is different and all the way through she keeps checking your progress and correcting your technique where necessary - you can't get away with anything! But I think the best thing about Rozz is that her sessions are such fun. She radiates positive energy, she is always smiling and I find working with her is inspiring.

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
My prices are based solely on my experience in the health and fitness industry. I was a dance teacher for 10 years and competed in athletics, netball and hockey. I base my prices on what I have to offer my clients. I am also training for my exercise referral qualification which gives me much more in depth knowledge about health conditions and training. I would normally charge £60 per hour but in the current economic climate I recognise that people are struggling more with finances. So I have dropped this price down to £50 per hour, with a 10% discount on a block of 10 sessions.
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
I would begin with a consultation. This allows me to find out a little more about a client's previous experience, any health conditions and preferences of training. We would also meet for a generalised coffee or a phone conversation to get to know a little more about each other; personal training is exactly that - personal - so it is vital we see if we will work well together.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
Look for sincerity. Look for qualifications and look for what they're promoting. There are thousands of trainers out there trying to sell you the same thing. 90% of them are in it for themselves, selling a dream that they cannot commit to and modelling their product based on 6 packs and instant weight loss rewards. 10% of trainers are actually in the industry to make a difference and improve their clients lives through realistic goals. I am in that 10%.
