I am a piano tutor with ABRSM Grade 8 Certificate (Distinction 138/150). I have learnt the piano since I was four. I got a distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 scoring 138/150. I am a classical music lover, compose and collect CDs in my daily life. My love to classical music is to some extent more than my love for Maths - it` is an indispensable part of my life! It`s what keeps me breathing every day! I will feel rather privileged to deliver this passion to my student. Despite the coronavirus, I kept delivering lessons to two piano students. One of my students now is a little beginner. I picked the textbook carefully and sometimes redesigned the pieces for her small hands. While practising mainly on the piano skills, I use 10 minutes or so every lesson to play her a piece of great composers (or mine) to develop her feeling to music. I always asked her to discuss her understanding of music, which proved was a good way to improve her learning. Another student is a professional musician but wanted to learn piano systematically. Although he focused on modern music, I taught him in a typical "classical" way because I thought in this way could he know where modern music came from. Because he is an adult, I sometimes used more complicated theories to explain music to him. Last time he told me he really loved my "deep knowledge" of "how music is fostered", which made me really proud as he was a professional musician.
