I’m a qualified Yoga teacher & Ayurvedic lifestyle consultant that teaches an authentic and traditional form of Hatha yoga known as Vinyasa Krama. The athletic approach (Sakti Krama) - yoga for strength, vigor & vibrant health, practiced as a physical art form. In the earlier phases of life, learning yoga in this way is highly beneficial to develop self-confidence, aid physical development, and discipline. A Vinyasa Krama Yoga practice manual is available to help students learn the postures and sequences. 2. A therapeutic or preventative health practice (Cikitsa Krama). In middle age, I focus on yoga as physical therapy and maintaining optimum health as far into life as possible. Ayurvedic health practices can be included where appropriate to heal, rejuvenate, correct patterns of imbalance, and reestablish harmony. 3. The spiritual practice of yoga (Adhyatmika Krama). Awareness development and a spiritual approach to life that supports our integral development and evolution. At Nectar Yoga, I offer private one-on-one personalized sessions and teach all levels – from complete beginners that can barely touch their toes to advanced practitioners and those interested in discovering or developing the spiritual aspect of yoga practice. I am devoted to yoga; I don't just teach postures and sequences but I focus on adapting yoga & incorporating Ayurvedic health practices where appropriate to suit your specific requirements based on your individual constitution (dosha), stage of life, your life situation & personal goals. My sessions include principles for right living, yoga postures & sequences, breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation practices that range from simple mindfulness techniques to devotional mantras, and Ayurvedic lifestyle recommendations where necessary. These can include dietary guidelines based on your bodily constitution, daily and seasonal regimens, detoxification practices, herbal rejuvenation tonics & warm oil self-massage. Most of my students experience a spectrum of benefits that improve their quality of life in different ways. Some of these include increased flexibility, greater strength, muscle tone, improved posture, better sleep, weight loss, improved circulation, better digestion, mental clarity, better concentration & coping mechanisms to effectively tackle stress and anxiety. (This review was taken over the phone by Bidvine) Steven became aware of my predicament and suggested he might be able to help me with some yoga. He started me off with gentle yoga exercises with attention to my breathing. He compiled a program for me to follow in my own time. From six months after I took up yoga, I was without pain in my back. I was also aware that my posture had improved being much straighter when standing or sitting whereas before I stooped. -Celia J.

I feel very lucky to have stumbled across Steven's yoga teachings in my local community. Having been suffering with crippling anxiety when I first came across these classes I can say hand-on-heart that the regular yoga sessions with Steven on Zoom (now in lock-down) have grounded me completely. I use all I have learnt outside of the sessions to keep a calm and balanced life. Steven is professional, kind and extremely knowledgeable and never lets his students down. If you are struggling to learn how to meditate, for me, Steven's Vinyasa Krama yoga has been the only thing to slow my mind enough to learn now to do this.

A highly experienced Yoga teacher. I joined a class with my daughter who has mobility issues. Steven has an excellent programme for group yoga - clear, graduated instruction and a caring welcoming style. I would recommend these to anyone of any age wanting a stretching and safe class. He also gave one to one sessions for my daughter - his experience and knowledge meant he could adapt the work to provide exactly what she needed. She found the sessions very helpful and fun. (She is not the easiest 'customer'). Her balance and confidence improved significantly. She now continues on her own to great benefit. Thank you Simon.

Steven is a great tutor with a professional yet comfortable approach. I was s complete beginner so needed a lot of guidance. Steven took time to explain and demonstrate each position very clearly - which is exactly what I needed. When in a group he ensures each person works at their own pace and feels comfortable before moving on. He has an amazing amount of patience and an absolute wealth of knowledge - so perfect for students of all levels. I honestly can not recommend him highly enough!

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
One-on-one personally designed Yoga & Ayurvedic practices are priced at £35.00 for a 60-minute session. Subsequent time in the same session @ £28 per hour. (£7 per 15 minutes) A FREE 30-minute consultation is available as part of the first lesson to discuss your needs and find out if this approach may be suitable for you. 20% discount for 10 lessons in advance. If travel time is significant then an additional charge per session will be applied. Appointments can be changed with appropriate notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice are charged in full. Ayurvedic herbs, foods, massage oils & supplements are charged in addition as required.

Free 30-minute consultation as part of the first lesson. The initial consultation enables us to establish your goals and objectives of yoga practice and design a practice plan which can be implemented over time using the appropriate steps to suit your ability, requirements, and stage of life.

How did you first get into this line of work?
In 2004 I had a stressful job and was handling stress in unhealthy ways. Somehow or other a came across a book called "Wake up to Yoga" and started practicing some postures alone in my room. Within a short time, I noticed it was having a beneficial effect on my life. Eventually, I plucked up the courage to take some yoga lessons and started to feel more relaxed, less stiff, and not dependent on the glass of wine or three to relax after work! My faith in yoga grew and when I came across the form of Yoga known as Vinyasa Krama I became inspired. I decided to dedicate more & more time to the study and practice of yoga. In 2010 I began training as a teacher in Vinyasa Krama Yoga with Stephen Brandon and Srivatsa Ramaswami. Over the past few years, I have enjoyed traveling whilst teaching yoga in various countries including Luxembourg, Italy, and Greece. I am now based in Radlett, Hertfordshire with my wife and son, and enjoy teaching in the community & sharing the many benefits of yoga with others. I still consider myself a student of yoga as it has a vast knowledge for realizing a spiritual understanding of the self, the universe, and the deeper purpose of life.
