About Naymes (DJ)

Really enjoy playing an open format set as it keeps the night more interesting and diverse so if given the chance would love to get involved, Please find with the link below a link to a 1hour mix containing Pop, Top 40, Disco, Dancehall, Reggaeton, House, Classic House, R&B, Throwback and a bit of Cheese. https://soundcloud.com/kallum-shore/open-format-1-hour-mix/s-jWsT8 I am currently 23 years old but will be turning 24 by the beginning of October, having recently moved to London I am based in Islington (N7) and will be until July next year when tenancy ends. I do own my own car with a clean license since I was 17 though the car is currently not up in London with myself it can be if required. Since have only just having moved to London I currently am free all days/evenings hoping to take on DJing full time as soon as possible. Profle Picture.jpg I currently use when gigging an all in one Pioneer XDJ-RX, I mainly work off my USB's as I feel this keeps me more engaged with the crowd but always bring along my laptop which contains Rekordox that I will plug in and play through if it is ever needed. I also have a subscription to DJ City which allows me to keep up to date with everything moving in the charts and play out some interesting remix's I feel the right crowd would enjoy. Below here I have attached links to both my Facebook and Instagram page where I upload my own productions as well as DJ work. https://www.instagram.com/naymes_prod/ https://www.facebook.com/Naymes-110427006996761/?modal=admin_todo_tour Please find below a small bio of myself and my current knowledge of Djing I have gained over the previous 18 months. I Have known I’ve wanted to be involved with music in some way since being 12 when starting my first drum lessons, I started to play in local bands with school friends and taught myself how to play guitar and piano in the following years before moving on to college to study both Music Technology and Music Performance to be introduced to the creative world of music and all the avenues it could lead me through. I attended university at Leeds Beckett studying Music Production from 2014 to 2017 successfully obtaining a bachelor’s degree. Through other like minded people in my course I found a love for hip hop as well as house music going to events held throughout the city being on of the best in the Uk in regards to nightlife. I always felt slightly jealous at these gigs. Wishing rather to be the one on stage engaging with the crowd and them speaking back to me. When my final year of university had come to an end though I had been enjoying learning what my decks were capable of from a flatmate and fellow DJ but wanted to start playing to crowds myself, shadowing this friend to his gigs in places such as Revolutions and Firepit I learnt how he would read the crowd looking at age ranges to even what clothes customers were wearing to determine what sort of night they were out looking for. After shadowing for a while I was able to join the same agency in Leeds (WDC) where I shadowed for a further time with the Artist manager learning how to approach staff and venue owners when introducing myself making sure we talked before my set allowing for the right mood to be created from the start. I always made sure managers knew I was approachable if they felt there needed to be an uplift in music to get people dancing or if the venue was dying out and they wanted to retain customers by playing a lighter set creating a lounge like vibe. From learning all this I have been gigging regularly over the last 18 months in Leeds and surrounding areas such as Sheffield and York, The last two months I have had a resident DJ position in Bouremouth as prepare to move to London playing an open format set each night including: Disco, Chart, House, R&B, Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, Throwback & Cheese. with each set varying from night to night depending on both the clientele and the needs of the venue. Having recently relocated to London I am looking forward to working within eclectic music scenes across the scene. Thank you for taking the time to go through my application and hope to hear from yourselves soon. Kind regards, Kallum Shore
