About Natalie Mills Counselling

I know life can present us with difficulties and I'm here to help. As a qualified therapist, my mission is to help people to overcome fears and doubts and realise what they are truly capable of. I offer a friendly and confidential one-to-one counselling service supporting adults, young people, and children with a variety of emotional, mental, and physical issues. When counselling, I use an integrative approach as it encompasses different therapies such as person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, solution-focused therapies, creative therapy, and play therapy. I find this very helpful as this gives clients a toolbox of skills and coping mechanisms that they can use, rather than just a single approach. Regardless of the issue my clients face, my mission is to always work in the best interests of my clients at all times. I believe that a great service is more than just being present and listening – it means going the extra mile to help and encourage them to move in the right direction. Our sessions are confidential and I will be empathic, honest, and non-judgemental. Aside from my private practice, I work for Respect For All who specialise in counselling adults and children with autism and learning disabilities. I have previously worked as a school and college counsellor with the YMCA and Place2be so I bring a wealth of experience to every case. You don’t have to struggle alone, so please get in touch and I look forward to helping you overcome your challenges.

Questions & answers

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
I am offering 50-minute online counselling sessions at a reduced rate of £35 due to Coronavirus
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
I will send you a counselling contract if working online (Video or Telephone) which will need to be signed and returned before your first session. If we are meeting in person this will be done at the beggining of the first session.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
I have a degree in psychology, a level 4 advanced diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling and a level 4 certificate in counselling children. I also work the charity Respect for All who specialise in counselling adults and children with autism and learning disabilities.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
Counselling is a very individual process so go with the person that feels right for you. I use an integrative approach so give my clients a toolbox of skills that they can use rather than just one approach.
What are some good examples of past customers?
I have worked with a vast amount of people and issues. I work with both adults and children with a variety of issues, including but not limited too, anxiety, stress, anger, relationship issues, work-related issues, etc.
Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?
I have worked with a variety of clients typically for 6-8 sessions. But this really dependant on the client as some I have felt better after a few sessions and some have needed more long-term support but I always go on what is best for the client
How did you first get into this line of work?
I have always been passionate about helping people and have followed my dream of becoming a counsellor. I qualified in January 2016 and since then I have worked as a school and college counsellor. I now run my own private practice in Manchester since October 2018 and I have been working with the Charity Respect for All since November 2018.
