About Michelle Grant

Hello 😊 Hope you are well My name is Michelle 🙏🏾 I'd love to help you on your yoga journey. I have been practicing Yoga for 10 years. Specialising in Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Power and Yin yoga styles - also Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga; trimester 1, 2 and 3. I teach beginners through to advanced practitioners. Focusing on the breathe (pranayama), and using the breathe to flow through poses (asanas) to improve flexibility, build strength and achieve deep relaxation. You'll start to see your body change and grow over time. I started Yoga teacher training for fun and the love of yoga, alongside my full time career as a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, rather than to make money so I can be flexible on costs. I like to use essential oils and Frankincense during my teaching finishing with Ayurvedic massage techniques (back, neck and shoulder/ head massage) whilst you are in Shavasana. I do hands on adjustments to deepen your practice; and I can provide yoga mats, straps, blocks. COVID-19 precautions (at your request) = gloves and mask. Happy to travel to your location if you are within 6 miles of W10 or W3 postcode, but I can also host at my flat in W10 (small space for 2 mats). I also offer online sessions via Zoom or Microsoft Teams 1 to 1, couples or for groups. Further to this I have completed an international massage diploma and Ayurvedic massage course. I am trained in Swedish, deep tissue and Ayurvedic massage. Ayurvedic Massage is based on ancient Indian principles of Ayurveda and pressure points. It is very similar to deep tissue massage but involves passive stretches of the body. It’s based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. Its main goal is to promote good health, not fight disease.  It's designed to heal the body and create a balance between mind, body, and spirit. This ancient Indian massage practice is similar to that of deep tissue massage but involves passive stretches of the body to aid in muscle relaxation, removing toxins and energy blockages and deep relaxation using essential oils/ massage oils. I can give a range of strengths - from light to hard pressure. I can travel to you or you can come to me. I have a portable massage bed. Really chuffed I found Michelle; I feel my body strengthen and balance improve in just a couple of weeks. Due to my condition I have stayed away from any intense training but Michelle expertly gets me doing a real workout without straining. I needed a deep tissue massage because of two old injuries that never healed. This was my first time using a masseuse so I was sceptical to see if it would be worth it. I have to say it really was, my hamstring and hip flexor improved the 2nd day after my massage. Michelle was able to work on scar tissue that had plagued me for 3 years. It definitely changed my opinion of these massages. I have no doubt though that it was due to Michelle herself. From the moment I arrived she was friendly but professional, explained to me what and why she would be doing certain things. I felt comfortable and in the hands of someone who was more than qualified and effective. I was relaxed and did not even notice the hour go in. I could not recommend Michelle more than enough, I have to teammates since and I have no doubt where I will be going for future issues. I'm flexible as this isn't my main career/ main source of income; this is why my price is lower than the average on this website. Typically I charge £25-30 an hour for face to face and £15-20 an hour for online.
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
Discussion on the phone or via WhatsApp and arranging a meeting typically. You won't know if you have a good relationship until you meet.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
Yoga Alliance accredited RYT 200-hour certificate and a 6-hour Ayurveda massage therapy certificate.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
Practice makes perfect. You'll notice change over time that will surprise you.
What questions should customers have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
You won't know until you try and see who is the right fit for you. But if you have questions its always good to discuss your thoughts with the pro before meeting.

Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?
With a few weeks my clients have built strength, flexibility and endurance. Whilst connecting min, body and spirit they were also able to get better at mindfulness and using yoga/ massage as a meditative practice. As I offer 1 to 1 tuition I help my clients reach their personal goals.
How did you first get into this line of work?
I've always loved yoga, found classes too generic so started creating my own flows tailored to my body. Lockdown happened and I had more free time so picked up yoga teacher training as the opportunity arose.
