About Michael Ogilvy
I am a professional drummer and drum teacher covering a wide range of styles: Jazz, Funk, Rock, Pop, Electronic, Experimental, Latin, West African and Afro-Cuban. I enjoy teaching and taking on students keen to learn the art of drumming, whether as a hobby or as a more serious pursuit! I am able to tailor lessons to students to make sure they learn in the way they want and get the most out of the experience in terms on skills and experience. I teach a range of other percussion beyond just drum kit so can happily explore different areas and styles to work out what a student wants to really commit to and work with! I myself have played and performed with various projects and recorded with various groups - The Live Salon, Still Moving, Babeheaven and Zantogola to name a few.
