About Jonathan Goldberg Photography
When was the last time an image made you stop in your tracks and look more closely? My name is Jonathan, and I have enjoyed working as a professional photographer for over 20 years. On any shoot, I believe in finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, revealing that extra something special about a person, place, or object. As a freelance photographer, my favourite aspect is the creative expression I’m given; it enables me to use my artistic eye to add flair while also delivering the best result for my clients. For the last few years, I’ve worked regularly with trusted magazine and corporate clients, and universities. My past includes working as a staff photographer on a daily newspaper – a job that taught me the importance of tight deadlines and fulfilling a brief creatively under any circumstance. Having always been passionate about photography, I’ve had the privilege of not only collaborating with prominent brands but also the honour of having my work shortlisted for several awards, including the Environmental Photographer of the Year (twice), and have recently had a spread published in the National Geographic magazine. My specialisms include event photography and portraits. I go the extra mile to offer a high-quality service that my customers have come to appreciate. At events, I make sure that I capture what my clients want and I shoot discreetly while making sure no major moments are missed. I particularly enjoy portraits as I find people very expressive and I aim to capture the essence of their personality and bring out the best in them. I use subtle managed lighting for enhanced portraits. I take pride in delivering consistently good results along with a quick turnaround time. I place an emphasis on listening to the unique needs of my customers and adapting my work around them along with a willingness to add my own ideas picked up from years of experience. Moreover, I’m patient, friendly, and ensure a comfortable atmosphere that is crucial to achieving exceptional results. My rates are very competitive and I offer discounts for multiple shoots/portraits as well as for regular commissions. I hired Jonathan for a last minute family portraits session. He was incredibly professional and accommodating throughout the process, from setting up the shoot location and other logistics to the actual shoot on the day. He was very gracious when we we ran late to the shoot and very patient with our 3 year old toddler who wasn't always so accommodating! The pictures themselves were high quality and look great.
