Fantastic to work with Ian, easy to talk with and share my concerns and ambitions for me and my career. We quickly got into it and designed tools that will help me drive my career but also balance with my life. To sum Ian up is hard, he was sometimes direct but compassionate sometimes inspiring and realistic I found new levels of motivation and belief. I would recommend Ian without any hesitation. It was a game changing experience, I learnt about myself and it was this awareness that has enabled me to take huge strides forward in my career. What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)

For a one-off intervention session, it is £120.00. The session length will be for one and a half - two hours with the possibility of additional actions for you. These sessions are suitable for a review or a one-off event such as an interview, presentation, appraisals, stressful situations. My standard program and the most popular is three sessions. The cost works out to £75.00 per session (one to one and a half hour per session) £225.00. Within these sessions, we will work towards the transformation you require, whether is in your private world, career management or leadership. You will likely have some actions from each session. In addition to our sessions, I am available to talk on the phone during our time together. After each session, I provide you with session notes and actions. The career management program is designed for those who are looking for promotion, escalate their career or are not working and need to get back to work. The cost is £650.00. The 12-week/session program is designed to address a range of development and transformational needs (see my business information on Bidvine). The cost is £1130.00. Payment options are available for all programs.

What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?

First and foremost am I right for you, it is about the chemistry. We do this by having a discovery call for about 15 to 20 minutes. We will detail what you are looking for. From this call, I will tailor a coaching plan for you, which we will work through. To help you understand what to expect from me the following might be useful. Coaching is part consultant part therapy part, teacher. The key focus is it is about your transformation. I have a coaching methodology which ensures we get the results desired but allows for the uniqueness of you and all my clients to flex in achieving this. I am a skilled listener and I inspire thinking with my clients through storytelling, metaphors, case studies and questions. My communications skills are refined so I pay close attention to what and how you say things and I communicate with you with respect and empathy. I am focused on results, lasting transformation, mindset and behaviours. I will help you create a system that supports this. Our sessions are likely to be online and normally last from one to one and a half hours, There is often some action for you to do prior to the next session. My style is clear and friendly.

What education or training is most relevant to your work?

I have been coaching for 12 years and counting, working with over 2,000 clients all unique with unique requirements. As active learner and professional, I can continue to evolve and develop my skills. My qualifications most relevant to coaching are ✔ PTTLS - Level 4 ✔ NLP Master practitioner ✔ Certificate in Human psychology – occupational effectiveness - Level 5 ✔ Certified life and career coach ✔ Certificate in Performance Psychology ✔ Currently in year 4 of an MSc in Performance Psychology with Columbia University

Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?

I offer a discovery call of 15-20 minutes as it is important you feel the coach is right for you, do they understand what you are looking for, is there chemistry. What are some good examples of past customers?

The people I work with have a broad range of needs/outcomes that we have worked through in our coaching sessions. Typical client requirements are Transform an aspect of their life, mindset, behaviours, relationships, wellbeing, motivations and personal development, career management, development of leadership skills and professional development. We work with a focus on the priority (the reason why you sort coaching) I ask questions and listen, I pay close attention to what is said and why I will challenge you. The results are a transformation; it is common for a client to feel energised and motivated to continue to work on their outcome. The number one area clients work with me on is career management, normally they are not working, redundancy or they are unhappy with the job they do and want to change direction.

Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?

A piece of work I am very proud of is enabling an ex-armed forces person to start their own business from home. Being physically disabled, their options for employment were limited; their ambition was not. We spent time looking and working through the transferable skills learnt in the army and his network of friends and contacts as well as developing new ones. We created a business plan and looked at sourcing product and fulfilment. We found a financial advisor and organised additional funding to enable the business to grow in line with anticipated product demand. The marketing strategy had a firm focus on using social media and networking with contacts, cost-effective and easy to manage from a laptop. Throughout the start-up process, we met weekly and talked nearly every day. Almost four months on the client had revenue coming in and can draw a salary. We still speak every couple of weeks we discuss sales and his developing business. It is always emotional for me, and I am so proud of this piece of work.

How did you first get into this line of work?

2008, a terrible year, the financial crisis was upon us, many people lost their jobs. As a manager, I had been coaching and training my teams for nearly four years when the crisis arrived at my desk and I was made redundant. By September of that year, I had not been able to secure another position but I had spent a lot of time counselling ex-colleagues, friends, the family who also had been impacted. I was running a training program for ex-servicemen and woman in Costa Coffee, High Wycombe. Inspired by the experience I took the plunge and became a full-time coach and Learning and Development, consultant. I now focus on coaching clients specifically with career, leadership and an aspect of their private world they want to transform, I love it.
