About George Quinnell-Harcombe

I am a pianist and composer with a degree in English and Music from the University of Wales, Bangor (BA Hons 1:1). I specialise in contemporary playing and songwriting. I am able to teach theory and music reading skills to beginners. I am easy-going and place more emphasis on enjoyment than results alone, though I recognise the value of achieving grades or learning a new piece. In addition to music performance and theory, I have a strong background in recording and music mixing. I have recorded the beautiful grand piano housed within St John's School Chapel in Leatherhead, performed at Surrey University studios, and have even spent a day at Abbey Road assisting a day of recording!

I have a very flexible style of teaching, suited to the needs and aspirations of every individual. I don't have a pre-set curriculum unless asked to, of course! Usually each pupil describes what they want to learn and for what purpose and we build it from there. I have been a signed artist with grea
