Hi there Thank you for taking time to read my profile, from this I take it you have reached out for some support in relation to challenges you are experiencing. I would love to assist you by offering a friendly and non judgemental approach by creating an environment, whether face to face or online, for you to be able to express how you feel and explore positive outcomes you would like to achieve. I am an experienced ‘Life Coach’ using a wealth of experience both professional and personal to support individuals and couples. I provide guidance and encouragement to help you reflect on your situation as to enable you to discover ways to manage day to day and planning long term goals. I assist individuals exploring; 1. Relationships (couples and individuals dealing conflict resolution, communication, intimacy, passion, trust etc) 2. Self esteem and confidence building 3. Developing positive habits 4. Review aspects of career and educational development 5. Living with depression, anxiety, social phobia etc 6. Understanding anger and the impact on your life and others and discovering alternative ways to express yourself Life is complex, its a journey not a destination. I am very experienced working with young people, young adults and able to offer support in many aspects of the journey into adulthood, this includes life and career choices. Using my background as a Social Worker, working with vunerable children, young people and adults has given me a wealth of tools to assist and support. As young people move into adulthood it can be confusing, scary, talking that through safely reassures them they are not alone. I work using a strength based using various skills, theoretical and practical excercises to enable individuals to explore where they have been, where they are and what direction they would like to continue in life. Q & A Firstly, I am fully ensured to do my life coaching and a certificate of public liability is available on request. 1. How do we begin? Once contact is made, I like to have a phone call conversation as to introduce myself and ask for a brief background to what you are experiencing. This enables me to see if I can assist you and more importantly for you to ask any questions you may have. If you decide that you wish to go ahead, we arrange our first meeting, either face to face or online using ‘Zoom”. The initial session is a chance for us to get to know each other and explore a starting point to support exploring your specific needs/challenges, we use this session to set the scene for future sessions 2. How long are the sessions and how many will I need? We allow an hour for each session. The number of sessions is continually reviewed as to ensure it is helping and we are on track to meet what is required. You are not tied into a contract of how many sessions you have, and you can extend or end the sessions at any time. 3. Do you use online sessions of face to face? I am happy to use either although face to face is dependent on your location and currently I would visit you. I am based in Woking, Surrey. I have no facitlity to have you come to me at present although I am working on this. I use Zoom, this has been very succesful with most people who choose this method and can be more flexible with times, days etc. If you have not used Zoom before, i am happy to help you set up and go through it with you. 4. Are my sessions and information confidential? Yes, all records are electronically stored and password protected. I am the only person that has access to your files. Realistically information I hold is mainly our discussion points. I fully comply with data protection rules - GDPR. My only provision to confidentiality is, If you are at risk to yourself or to others, this is reinforced when working with individuals under 18. 5. How much does it cost? This is agreed during our intial telephone conversation, however i do send an estimate to you beforehand. 6. How do I pay for the sessions? I accept cash and bank transfer. What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
I charge by the hour with a estimate offered and discussed at the initial contact. I am fully aware budget restraints and happy to be flexible as to ensure that customers can afford my services. This could be by changing the frequency of sessions, happy to discuss alternatives. I also like to set the first session free of charge as this is basically building a relationship and finding out more about the challenges faced by my customers so we can work out a plan going forward. I review regularly with the customer if the sessions are meeting need. You are not tied into a set number of sessions, it is pay as you go and free to end or extend sessions if required. I do offer package prices, such booking 10 sessions for the price of 9.
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
Once we have made contact, I offer an initial chat over the phone to introduce myself, explain how I work, and find a little more about the challenges faced by the customer. This is of course totally confidential and there is no obligation to share information or agree to start working with me. It give the customer a brief idea if we can communicate together and begin the sessions. Once agreed the hourly rate we will book the first session which is free of charge, this session is used to find out more about the challenges and to get an understanding how we will proceed. We then set regular sessions at the agreed frequency and review regularly.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
I am a registered social worker of over 25 years. My qualification is diploma and social work and this was at Portsmouth university. This has given direct experience of working children, young people and adults dealing with many challenges. My qualifications have led into life coaching / counselling and I am trained in using CBT, NLP and various other talk therapy.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
My advice in hiring a life coach, It is important that you are ready to face your challenges and able to commit to fully to the sessions, it is for you, not anyone else. It is important that you find the right match, that initial conversation is really important to try and establish if they are the right fit, do they make you feel at ease and do they give you confidence they can help. Try and figure out what you feel your initial needs are, these can be explored further with the life coach but it is important that you are in the driving seat. Have your questions ready at the initial discussion and make sure you understand the answers, if not make sure they are clearly explained. No question is silly.
What questions should customer have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
1. What is their experience in dealing with your challenges? 2. Ask for an example how they have worked with others in your situation 3. How do the sessions work? 4. Ask an estimate of how many sessions will be needed and how are these reviewed if they are on track and meeting the need? 5. Cost is important, be clear about what you can afford and make sure the life coach understands this so you can set up sessions to meet you budget, never over stretch yourself.
