About Francisco Rua

A compelling portrait can bring back wonderful memories or even sway an opinion about a cause. This ability of images to influence and travel back in time is what drew me to a camera in the first place. I'm Francisco, a photographer and entrepreneur and I recently started my own photography business. I'm a creative person with high levels of energy and approach each new assignment with a great degree of enthusiasm. At 16, I started my photography journey and it was in Paris where I found glamour for the first time. Later at age 30, I started my own project called 'The Quest for Glamour' with the initial purpose of facing my fears. Today I'm specialised in fine-art portraits and editorials! After a few years, I moved to the UK to rebuild my life on my own terms, bringing my creative and artistic vision to life with every photo shoot. Light & Perception are my secrets – I believe that the equipment is just a tool, and it’s the artistic skills of a photographer combined with technical expertise that ultimately counts. I consider myself as a creative director, photographer and main editor of my photo shoots. Being a technical photographer, I can quickly guide on how to pose to achieve the best results. I also have a thorough understanding of light, and use natural or artificial light to create pictures that are truly exceptional. Alongside that, I'm an empath and use my soft skills to create the best environment to build trust and confidence during the shoots. I usually work with at least one make-up artist to help my subjects look their finest.
