Furhein H.'s review on Aug 16, 2020

Due to COVID, my Nikaah was an extremely simple affair with just my parents present in my flat, I couldn’t have any beauty appointments, but I was determined to at least have a professional photographer. Eric travelled far the day before to check everything out, he didn’t charge anything extra for this. This was the first time he had attended this kind of ceremony and he made sure that he knew exactly what would happen when. He did everything we asked him to do and stayed over extra time. He was punctual and mindful of those with vulnerable health issues. He sounds experienced and has the right equipment. It helps if you can give him examples of what you are looking for. He is straight up about what he can and cannot can do for the price quoted. He’s friendly and mindful of the occasion, and I hardly noticed him whilst the ceremony was ongoing. He made me and my dress look lovely in the photos and I am not the most photogenic of people! I look forward to working with him again when we have our Reception, but I’m not sure when that will be given the current climate.

Working with Furhein and her family was a most enjoyable experience. Meeting up with furhein the night before made the actual ceremony straight forward as i know what was going to happen and when. I am looking forward to the reception when and where ever it is. Thank you

I feel I have to write and let you know how Good and professional Eric was when he carried out the photography for my daughter wedding. From the moment that we contacted Eric through his website he came across as a person who knew what he was doing. He arrived well before the agreed time very smartly dressed in a suit and took some wonderful photographs, we will be able to remember this day for the rest of our lives. Would we recommend him most definitely. Joe Henson

We found Eric from his website we were most impressed with this so we used the contact page and Eric replied within about 2 hours Every question that we asked Eric was able to reassure us that it was covered in the price. Come wedding day Eric arrived well before time looking very smart is a suit and waistcoat to match our colour scheme. throughout the day the barely knew he was there being very discreet often mixing in with our guest who also commented on his professionalism and discreet manner. We received our photographs on line within 3 days and the USB arrived within the week. I cannot rate Eric highly enough and will definitely be recommending him to every one that asks. Simon B.'s review on Jul 14, 2019

From the minute we met Eric he came across as very professional, he asked to meet us at the wedding venue so he could have a look round, as we went round the building he was suggesting different poses against different parts of the build including reflection in the lake. We asked for a very photogenic wedding, we certainly got that Eric just blended in with everybody stopping to have a chat you really didn't know where he was or who he was taking pictures off. when we got the photo's back just over 300 well we were speechless. Thank you Eric keep up the good work i'm sure at your prices you will be busy. I will have no hesitation in recommending your services to everyone. Simon and Rachel

Questions & answers

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
All prices quoted a fixed prices, if you have requested a wedding Album in your initial request it will be included in the price, we ask for a 10% deposit to secure the booking with the balance paid One month before the wedding. we also offer a Free Engagement session if you have booked your wedding with us and we also offer a 10% discount if you pay the full fee when booking. Instalment's can be made if it helps with the budgeting
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
Once the customer is showing interest in hiring myself for there wedding we like to get the initial paperwork sent to the customer as soon as possible, this gives you the customer a good chance to go through the paperwork before making that final commitment and parting with there money. The paperwork also gives you the customer a chance to see the standard shot list which is not set in stone, its is a basic idea that can be changed very easy you can add your requirement or cross bits out it is much easier working with a list so know one is disappointing at the end of the day because they wanted a particular pose that I didn't know about
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
Like most Photographer it is a passion that grows with you over the years. i have been behind the Len's for 20+ years before deciding to take early retirement from the 9-5 job to becoming a full time photographer. So I went back to photography school to gain several qualifications including a diploma in Digital photography. Diploma in Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. In December 2016 Diploma in wedding Photography and then being Invited to join Society of Wedding & Portrait photographers. Also in 2016 Certificate of Achievement in Digital Photography
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
I can not put it any other way but make sure you pick a photographer that has a wealth of experience. This is your Wedding day the biggest day of your life, you do not won't to ruin it just because someone is prepared to photograph it for a couple of Hundred Pounds just to gain experience. Myself in the last 3 years alone I have shot just over 100 Wedding, Experience in a wedding Photographer is paramount. In February 2020 I had the honour to be the main Photographer at the Wedding of Lord and Lady Cannock's Daughter. Also make sure you look at the photographers portfolio not just the best 20 Images he wants you to see ask to see photographs from the whole wedding from start to finish. Should be about 200-300 Images. that way you will get to see his/her style and quality
What questions should customers have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
If I was getting Married (not again) the first question are you free on such and such date followed by how much are you charging. What am I getting for my money. Does that it include any Images. Digital/prints, what size , how many prints do I get, Do I get a copy of all the Images from the day. Is a Wedding Album included do you have a sample I can see, if yes How many images in the album. Are the Images going to be watermark. What time in the morning will you be starting. what time in the evening do you finish. If I want you to stay later for a firework show would you charge extra.
What are some good examples of past customers?
Examples of Good Customers are the one's that ask lots of questions before we even meet up for the intro meet at the wedding venue. so when we walk round the inside and outside the customer is explaining there exact requirements so we can have a look round the local area to get the desired photograph. One one wedding I covered the bride had to climb over a 5 bar gate and a style all to get a silhouette of the sun setting. At this initial meeting it is very helpful if the Bride & Groom bring along the list of Important peoples names that would of been sent to them. this speeds things up and is a far more friendly atmosphere. We all co-operate together makes a stress free day.
Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?
A project that went well has to be the daughter of Lord and Lady cannock. It wasn't straight forward so I think we ended up with 3-4 face to face meeting to get all the detail correct including wordings on the contract. It was a large wedding approx 200 guest's so I asked one of my Female photographers to help out on this one. Her job was to stay with the Bride and her close family at all times. This was a very good Wedding for having the 2nd photographer present as One of the request was to form all the guests into a Heart shape at the bottom of a flight of stairs leading to a Local Canal. I was able to organise the Guests whilst my college could see from above where I needed to move the guests to. Good a result. The important person list was a great help as it was a lot easy to look for uncle Tom, Rather than Who's Missing. All in all the posed Photo session did take a couple of Hours but that was due to the number of guests and the number of Photograph's the happy couple required. It was On this wedding that my main camera got dropped onto the stone floor in the church, camera now in 2 bits gentle walk mover to bag out with spare camera. No damage done except camera. Expensive.
How did you first get into this line of work?
As A person that spent most of there working life on the continent as an international truck driver. I used to spend my weekends photographing local landscape and architecture which can get very frustrating. when my eldest Son got married I logically did the photography for this event. I realised how much more exciting wedding's are to photograph as there is always something going on. Rather than sitting waiting for the sun to hit a certain rock at a certain angle. After that wedding I agreed to cover a couple more Weddings for friends so when I took early retirement It was just going to be the odd wedding to supplement my Pension but I found I was in demand and now i cover many weddings throughout the year
