Christopher Batchelor

About Christopher Batchelor

I was educated from a young age on both Piano and Organ, and gained an organ scholarship to Oxford University. Moving to Cambridge, I graduated with a doctorate, largely in 17th century music. At this time I also gained the ARCM, ARCO and CHM. I started teaching the piano when I became Assistant Director of Music at University College School, London. I moved on from this position to become Professor of Orchestration at the Royal Miitary School (Kneller Hall). A further move took me to the London College of Music, where I was also involved in creating new syllabus material, alongside my teachingt and learning. I taught and examined up to and including postgraduate level, and I became Head of the London College in 2006. I am based in central London and travel to Lincolnshire quite regularly. Music is a passion - I play and listen to it every day
