Personal Training
Rachel K.'s review on May 16, 2020

Charlotte a fantastic personal training programme and what was greatness she came to my home at times convenient to me. She developed a personal plan based on my aims and goals. The plans were fun and different and I really noticed the progress. I would highly recommend Charlotte.

Questions & answers

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
Face to face Personal Training is £24 per 45 minute session. Block booking is £120 for 6 sessions. Online training packages available from £18 a session.
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
When starting with a new client I like to get to know the client, what their likes/dislikes are, what their fitness goals are and the time they’re willing to put in to achieving these. Also as part of the induction a ParQ form will need to be completed by the client prior to starting any fitness regimen, this is to ensure the client is ready and able to engage in physical activity and also this is a prerequisite for insurance reasons too.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
I’m a REP’s registered Level Three qualified Personal Trainer and I’ve been a fitness instructor teaching the beachbody programme PiYO LIVE for a number of years. I have also worked within the NHS for ten years and as such have witnessed the difference regular exercise can make to overall health, fitness and mental wellbeing. Fitness isn’t just about how well your jeans fit and this is something I strive to bring into clients workouts, to give them a better awareness of their own body.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
I would ensure firstly that they hold relevant qualifications and insurance, this is very important as incorrect form during exercise can cause injuries. Secondly, and probably of equal importance; you need to have a good rapport, they’re going to be asking you to do things that you will find hard on occasion, and liking the person asking you to do that last rep, makes you more likely to complete it! This is going to mean better results. Plus you should enjoy your sessions, at the end of the day you’re investing in yourself, make the most of the time!
What questions should customers have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
I would suggest that before speaking to a pro they need to be sure exactly what their goals are, vague ideas are impossible to quantify and make it harder to set realistic goals. Clients might like to ask what area the Personal Trainer specialises in, this in itself can determine how good a fit the client/trainer will be. For example someone looking to build body mass may not benefit greatly for a trainer who specialises more in endurance fitness.
What are some good examples of past customers?
The best customers know what their goals are and have realistic time goals set. They look at the picture holistically, have a good awareness of their diet and aren’t afraid to put the time in themselves between sessions.
How did you first get into this line of work?
I’ve always loved fitness and after a number of years it was suggested that I might make a good trainer/instructor, so I completed my training and now I love helping people rediscover their confidence. Once you’ve proven to someone that they can do something they never believed possible, their whole attitude changes for the better and it’s no longer “just” the body that’s benefitting from exercise, it’s mental well-being too.
