About Catherine Mary Yoga

Are you looking to feel more energised, centred and toned? Vinyasa yoga is a fantastic way to get back in touch with your body and de-stress your mind. Particularly in the traditional way yoga was taught: a calming and nourishing one-to-one lesson. I’m Catherine, a qualified vinyasa yoga instructor with many years experience of different disciplines, including Bikram and Hatha. What will we do in the class? This depends, as I’ll modify to your body and your needs. But something like this: > If you are brand new to yoga, a brief explanation and de-mystifying chat > A warm-up, to prepare your body for the postures and focus your mind on a theme or intention > A bespoke sequence of asanas (postures), customized to your level and why you are approaching yoga > This culminates in a peak posture - something we’ll have been working up to > A juicy seated stretching session > Slowed down, meditative closing session, to seal your practice. If you’d like, we can incorporate more meditative elements. Or we can make the class more about building strength and suppleness. I have a particular interest in women’s wellness - working in asanas (postures) designed to balance hormones - so I am happy to weave that into your practice if you’re female. You can expect to: > Restore energy > Balance your body and mind > Become more confident in your body > Develop a stronger and leaner physique > De stress > Go at your pace, but also be encouraged to advance > Focus on your alignment > Receive specific adjustments and micro-adjustments Where we practice: > At my home studio in Notting Hill (wooden floors, triple height ceilings, light and peaceful ambience) > At your place of convenience This is a wonderful way into yoga for beginners and a good way for those who’ve been practicing for a while to move their practice forward. Let's start with one class and see how you feel. It can also be nice to do a semi-private classes by adding friends/a partner.
