About Alan Gordon Health and Wellbeing

BIOMECHANIST : AN EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONAL LEVEL. A GENUINE EXPERT. ALAN WORKS AT A LEVEL OF EXPERTISE - FAR ABOVE THE INDUSTRY STANDARDS. Specialist Fields: Over 50s of both Genders - Weight Loss/Management - Ladies Exercise, Injury & Nutrition. BIOMECHANISTS are advanced and outstandingly safe - One - to - One Exercise/ Fitness and Injury experts. Alan is particularly advanced - in matters regarding the wellbeing of older generations - and has clients ranging from their late 50s, across the 60s, 70s and 80s. Because he's a Biomechanist - Alan works at a professional level of knowledge, safety and expertise - that is dramatically beyond the abilities of personal trainers. You must be qualified to either MSc. or PhD. level - to be a Biomechanist, and in total - the training for all of Alan's qualifications took 11 years - and that's coupled with 47 years of professional experience. In addition - he is an authority on flexibility/mobility - and author of the book 'Get Fit Flexibility'. Google - 'Get Fit Flexibility, Alan Gordon'. To see just how successful Alan is with his clients - please go to his website - 'Alan Gordon Health & Wellbeing' and click on his 'Testimonials' section. All the comments there - are clear confirmation of Alan's ability to help you. You will find that the words of Professor Sallie Lamb - Dr Hugh Weldon - Dr Raymond Wright and Dr Stefano Formis, (to name just a few) make very reassuring reading. Alan is also retained to privately assess personal trainers - and since March 2002 - has assessed just a little short of what is now - 3,000 individuals. As well as medics - Alan's website testimonials contain glowing recommendations from perfectly straightforward, everyday people - who had a variety of problems that Alan successfully addressed for them - across a broad range of needs and requirements As mentioned previously - please take on board that Alan's training for all his qualifications combined, took 11 years - and he has 47 years of professional experience. So now with this in mind - then be aware - that a great many exercise instructor and personal trainer courses out there - require disturbingly little training to qualify - so it's very easy to appreciate why working with Alan - is far safer and much more reliable. There are well known, actually 'recognised' UK personal trainer courses (openly available to any complete novice) - which will officially qualify you after only 10 weeks of training - and Pilates teacher courses (also available to complete novices) are almost equally brief - with only 12 weeks of training required to qualify. Alan not only attends to exercise/fitness/injury - but also the nutritional aspects of a client's requirements Alan is the only Biomechanist anywhere - who is also a well qualified Nutritionist - possessing a First Class Honours Degree in Nutrition - as well as his Masters Degree in Biomechanics & Applied Human Movement and two Advanced Clinical Diplomas. From the diet/nutritional aspect of his work - Alan has interacted with the 'British Nutrition Foundation' for many years now. His nutritional expertise - has addressed a broad variety of diet, weight loss/management and nutritional situations over the years. His work spectrum in this field has also involved cancers ( Testicular, bladder, prostate, brain, ovarian, breast, endometrial, womb) Thyroid issues, PCOS and eating disorders. Dianna Lloyd - Hughes. BSc.(Hons 1st) Sport & Exercise Science.

Questions & answers

What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
Please be aware that within a client's fees - Alan also designs and documents for the client. all the maintenance work that's required of them in between sessions. This guarantees that the progress they make, isn't lost between face to face sessions. This extra work that Alan always performs for his clients - has been outstandingly successful in delivering results that regularly exceed client expectations. Just look in Alan's website 'testimonials' section to see very clear evidence of this. The discount package performs 2 functions. 1. it commits the client to their working partnership with Alan and has been very successful indeed in stopping clients 'falling off the wagon' en route to their goals. 2 It presents a simple 'thank you' for - choosing to work with Alan. However, the discount package is certainly not mandatory - and clients attending to their fees session by session is absolutely fine.
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
A client completes an in - depth ( completely private & confidential) 'Health and Nutrition Questionnaire' which includes a 7 day Diet Diary. Once completed and sent back to Alan, it will present further further questions for him to ask. Next is Initial Consultation. This involves Alan asking further questions and performing a visual movement observation test, called a 'Range Of Motion Test'. This process discovers all the client's unique physical highs and lows and unconditionally guarantees that everything they perform will be absolutely safe. It is a completely non extertional test procedure - and is dramatically beyond the expertise of personal trainers to perform. All the client does is based on the infallible, biomechanical 'safety net' that a full ROM Test provides, and the attention the client receives, is uniquely personal to their bodies alone. Without a ROM Test first, genuinely 'personal to the body' personal training is impossible. It will be supervised exercise that's taking place - and that's a standard dramatically less safe and significantly less efficient than real personal training. This why a Biomechanist is exceptionally safe and reliable.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
MSc. Biomechanics & Applied Human Movement. BSc. (Hons 1st) Degree. Sports Nutrition. Advanced Diploma in Clinical Stress Management. Advanced Diploma in Clinical Sports Therapy. As a Biomechanist, Alan has very high end medical training and is recommended by Consultants and GPs, for dealing with the most delicate exercise - fitness medical situations as well as straightforward exercise, injury and nutritional matters.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
Be sure to establish how much training was involved for the qualifications you encounter - and how much experience the person has after their qualifications were achieved. Be advised that this matters very much - as many fitness and trainer courses require from only a couple of weeks to a few months training. Your choice of person genuinely must know exactly what they're doing - as it's your body and physical wellbeing that's directly on the line. Would you allow a dentist, qualified from only 10 or 12 weeks of training from beginner - to inject your gums and give you a filling or some crown work? Or honestly feel totally safe and secure - if a mechanic with a similar training time from beginner - removed, adjusted and replaced the brakes on your car?
What questions should customers have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
What if any - specific problems are involved? What they have experienced in the past? What they're seeking to achieve from a one to one process
What are some good examples of past customers?
These professionals trusting Alan enough to look at their fitness and become his client, ( and still are) makes a very clear statement about his reliably 'safe hands' credibility, skills and expertise - as does being recommended for both injury and fitness by Professor Sallie Lamb, Oxford University's Kadoorie Professor of Trauma Rehabilitation. The late Sir Roger Bannister - was a client for 7 years. Dr Raymond Wright - Dr Sandy Scott - Dr Stefano Formis - Dr Jonathan Shepard - Professor Cyril Mango Dr Tim Carter - Dr Judith Herrin. Dr Michelle McLaughlin and Dr Maureen McCreadie.
Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?
Many successes, and all Alan's reviews are on his website's testimonial section For just 3 random choice of successes - from the testimonials on Alan's website. View Melanie Hammond - Delyth Morgan - Madeleine Carter
How did you first get into this line of work?
40 plus years ago. Evolved from being a pure Biomechanist, into exercise/fitness & Injury.
