Having never really being one for the gym I joined Alesha at Christmas - 6 months ago - as a way of keeping up my fitness and diversifying my training from just doing the odd run while the weather was bad. Initially I joined for some group training sessions expecting simply to put through my paces for a few weeks but what I got was a whole lot more. Alesha was very supportive of what I wanted to get out of the training, gave me additional 1 on 1 support to ensure I was exercising correctly and support on a healthy diet helping me finally kick my biscuit addiction! Since lockdown and the gym closing Alesha has gone above and beyond that of a lot of other friends trainers not only offering 1 on 1 Skype sessions but regular group sessions for all her clients on Zoom. I signed up for more group sessions before lockdown without hesitation, which have now moved onto Zoom and will be carrying on my 1 to 1 sessions for at least the duration of the current madness and likely beyond.

Would definitely recommend sessions with Alesha, she’s taught me so much over the past few years not just about training right but eating better aswell, 100% changed me for the better. The progress that I’ve been able to achieve with her one to ones and diet plans have been great. Feeling so much healthier and strong, I actually look forward to going to the gym now even by myself which was something I’d never do. She’s become a really good friend aswell and is very flexible around your home life, she adapt sessions suited to you personally, With a wide range of different options (packages) you can choose from My mum and I do the sessions together which works perfect for us able to split the cost and workout with you friends / family xxx

I've had alesha as my personal trainer since last October. She is with you 24/7 for fitness, food nutrition or if you just need a little chat. She always makes sure you're happy and feels comfortable during every session. When I started, i started at the bottom as I didn't have hardly any strength and muscle but I've come so far within 6 months and I couldn't of done it without her!

Alesha has been fantastic helping me get back into exercise! She is very patient and so easy to get along with! Before starting PT my diet was rubbish I hadn’t exercised for years, entering a gym would cause me anxiety I was so out of my comfort zone! In only 4 weeks with Alesha my technique has improved my fitness level is improving my diet has completely changed, my energy levels have improved I am so happy that even after a short time I can feel a difference already! Our workouts Are great I don’t feel daft she puts me at complete ease aswell as ensuring I get the maximum out of each session, she pushes me and is teaching me the best technique to ensure I get the best from each exercise! I am a Level 3 qualified personal trainer deeply committed to helping my clients become healthier and fitter. With over 5 years of experience, I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds and different ages and abilities to change their outlook and approach to fitness. And none of them regretted it! I have a dance background and competed nationally – this enables me to utilise my training to create engaging workouts that are customised to your goals. Changing someone’s life both mentally and physically is so important and I will help you to create a positive mindset and provide plenty of motivation when things get tough. To make someone feel more confident and happy with themselves is very rewarding and I take pride in empowering my clients to enhance their wellbeing. What should customers know about your pricing? (E.g. estimates, discounts, fees, package pricing)
My base price per session is £30. However if you book a block of sessions or sign up to monthly packages each session will be discounted down to £25.
What process do you go through when starting with a new customer?
When starting with a new customer it is really important to go through these few steps first... - Goals - Current regime - Any medical concerns or struggles they may have - What they would like out of coaching I then will work round the customer to create the perfect plan for sessions and any other help they need outside of our 1-1 training, whether that be personalised programmes, mental health support, encouragement etc.
What education or training is most relevant to your work?
Each workout/plan is tailored to each individual so i have experience in a range of exercise techniques. However i do base a lot of my training around HIIT as i find it very beneficial. I focus on educating individuals on how to live a healthy balanced lifestyle when it comes to both food and exercise. It is important to implement a lifestyle change. Attention to detail is something I strongly believe in and being that motivation for the client is my top priority throughout all aspects.
Do you have tips or advice for someone hiring a pro in your line of work?
When it comes to hiring a trainer there are many things to take into consideration for example... - Just because they may be cheaper it doesn't mean you will get what you need - Are they personable? having someone who is friendly, encouraging and supportive - Speak to people in more depth before jumping into a decision - If people want to help you you will see that with your conversations and there is so much more! I believe that i do well because i am personable and i can relate to many of my clients. They want to be able to enjoy the process, feel comfortable with the trainer, have support throughout their journey and overall feel happy with their decision.
What questions should customers have ready before speaking to pros about their project?
A few questions which i think are great to ask... - what do you offer? its good to know everything in which the trainer has to offer (packages/price etc) - do you have any transformation photos/story's that i can look at? helps see what the trainer has done previously - ask about their background (it helps relate sometimes and shows if the trainer has a passion for what they do) - ask whatever you need to ask in detail regarding your goals etc (trainers, well me personally i love when clients are motivated and explain in detail what they want to achieve and goals etc)
What are some good examples of past customers?
It's hard to pick just a few! Client 1- 59 years of age, limited flexibility, hip replacement and neck surgery. They had good determination but precautions had to be taken at the start. This shows how important it is to listen to a client and their needs/goals. We had to strip back to basics with training to build back up strength and range of motion. Now I describe him as a machine and definitely someone to look up to! Client 2- Age 16, suffers with bulimia. This was hard not only for me but for my client too. We really had to break things down. I needed to make sure she would develop enough trust to understand and follow my help. We worked closely on training she enjoyed and made her feel good and foods that she would eat without going out of control etc. Yes she still struggles but overall we have created a better relationship with food and a love for weight training. Client 3- 41 years old, suffers with mental health and consistency. From the start a big problem was motivation and stress levels were high. We focused on taking little steps on improving her diet and training and planning daily to help her reduce stress and feel more relaxed and able to enjoy the process.
Describe a recent project that went well. Scope? How long did it take?
Age- 23- 6 month transformation Although i specialise in weight loss i work with a mixture of clients who have different goals. Throughout the 5 years i have built up knowledge in all areas to help each individual. This client came to me suffering from poor posture, not being able to gain weight, bad diet, lack of exercise, fatigue and really needed to change her lifestyle. The first phase was spent looking into her nutrition, helping her keep up with 3 meals a day eating the right foods but also being able to have treats so she still had that balance. Aiming to drink more water and slowly introduce her into training. This took time because not only was she doing the polar opposite it requires a lot of work and dedication (we all struggle some days). Now we have improved posture, better eating habits and the strength she has built is incredible. Please note i believe taking things slower was the right decision for this client and their mental health. Not only is she healthier and fitter now but she is also happier.
How did you first get into this line of work?
I have always been into fitness from a young age. I competed nationally in dance for 10 years so keeping fit was key! I loved exercising and learning what was best for my body to achieve my goals. There was a stage when i was unsure what to do but decided to stay down the fitness route and help people. I myself have struggled with nutrition and training and the more i learned the more i wanted to help people and be that support system and motivation for them. 5 years ago i started my business and so far i have loved it. The best decision and i cant wait to help more people! i create a supportive, close, motivational team so that we can all help each other along the way.
