How much do hip hop dance lessons cost?

Aug 01, 2018

Dancing can be quite a joy, whether it’s for fun or for exercise. Although there are a lot of different kinds of dancing to choose from, hip hop dancing is growing in popularity! Its energetic moves and powerful poses make it an inspiring dance style to learn.

There are also many benefits to learning how to dance in a hip-hop style. First of all, it's great aerobic exercise. Your heart rate will rise and you will exercise your muscles, heart and lungs as you do this enjoyable activity.

With dance, you will also learn how to move with the rhythm of the songs you use as your soundtrack. This may give you an impressive skill to break out at your next party! Dance classes are also beneficial as you will meet new people and build your confidence while learning a fun new skill.

If you're curious about the cost for your lessons you may want to think about several factors such as who you take your classes with and where! These may influence the overall cost of sessions, so read on for more information.

Considerations

When first beginning lessons for a passion or hobby like hip-hop dancing it can be a bit intimidating. But if you find the right instructor, you can start your journey with confidence! To find the person who can lead you to greatness on the dance floor, you’ll want to think about a few details first. This will make sure you will learn the right things in your classes.

Keep in mind that you’ll also want to consider whether to take classes on your own or as part of a group. Both will teach you the skills, but you may be more comfortable with one over the other. Some of the benefits of each are outlined when it comes to your experience!

Student’s Experience

It’s very important to consider the student’s experience when searching for the right lessons. Whether you’ve been dancing regularly for a few years or have yet to take the first step, hip-hop dance lessons will help you gain skill. Even someone who dances regularly can benefit from the attention of a teacher and scheduled practices. You'll be sure to learn a thing or two!

Don’t be afraid to admit that it’s your first time out on the dance floor. Your instructor needs to know to ensure that your dance lessons are structured in the right way. They will start with the basics and evaluate your sense of rhythm. This helps you get a proper foundation for learning.

Goals

Your goal can also influence the type of lessons you choose. You’ll want your instructor to know what you're hoping to achieve, so they can ensure that you get there with the proper lesson plans. Although your individual motivations may vary, most reasons for choosing hip-hop dance fall into a few categories. Choose the one that fits your dreams closely and you will be thrilled with the lessons you receive.

Hip-hop dancing when it’s just for fun is a great way to spend time doing something you love. Even if the only performance you have is in your living room, you can enjoy yourself learning new moves.

Perhaps you have a wedding coming up, and you know the music is going to be full of hip-hop hits. With lessons, you will be confident and capable on the dance floor. Plus, hip-hop dancing is a great style for nearly any song. You will look great out on the floor, busting your moves.

You may also need to take lessons to improve your hip hop dancing for an event. It could even be a performance! You’ll want to be prepared with extra practice to make sure you look fantastic out there.  Lessons can give you a brush up on your skills or teach you something new, something that's sure to impress.

But hip-hop makes for an excellent workout too. You'll get your heart beating and work up a sweat. The energetic movements will help tone your muscles, working to improve your physical and mental health. It’s a great activity for your health.

Time & Frequency of Lessons

Most hip-hop lessons run about 45 minutes to an hour in length. This includes time for warming up and cooling down, plus lots of time to learn! Looking for lessons that are more extensive? Simply ask your instructor if they are available to schedule in a longer session!

You should take lessons once or twice a week to establish a good routine and keep your skills fresh in your mind. Plan to take a series of hip-hop dance lessons for at least a few weeks to properly develop your skills! You can also speak with your instructor to help come up with the proper frequency and duration to reach your goals.

Instructor’s Experience

You’ll also want to look at your instructor’s experience. Once you have an idea of who you’d like to work with, visit their Bidvine profile. You'll be able to find reviews of their classes or individual teaching methods on their profile. Read their reviews to see how other students felt about the experience in class and whether they enjoyed the teaching style. This information is sure to help you narrow down your selection before making the right choice.

Look for credentials as well. The teacher should list their previous experience with hip-hop dance in their Bidvine description. If not, simply ask them directly when you submit a free request for lessons.

Location

Spacious, wide open rooms with smooth floors are a top option for dancing. The floor should be comfortable underfoot and durable enough to withstand hip-hop dancing.

Popular options include going to a gym or studio. Sometimes your instructor may teach out of their home if they are equipped to do so. Travelling to your lessons is a common factor, so be sure to set aside time to get there. If you take lessons multiple times per week, you will have to incorporate frequent commuting into your plans.

Perhaps you would rather not travel to your lessons and would prefer another option. Some instructors may be willing to travel to you, provided you have a free space large enough for proper lessons. Ask them for details to see if this is an option available to you.

Summary

Learning how to hip hop dance is going to be a lot of fun. Now that you know what to look for in an instructor and lessons, you will be able to learn the steps and movements and live your dream of being a hip-hop dancer!

I absolutely love Vaida. I had a knee injury that put me off working out for a long time and with Vaida, that pain has entirely vanished. Her form and her teaching is of the highest quality. I recommend her very highly and also find the training space complete with a lovely atmosphere. Well worth it all, if I could rate 10 more stars, I would!

Katarina is a very charming, friendly and professional Massage Therapist. She identified that I had a back problem and was careful (via communicating) not to cause undue pain. She was great - one of the very best massages I have ever had! In addition, her place of business is excellent- a lovely, big room, full of character. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend her to a family member, or friend. Thanks Kat! You are wonderful
