About

I would like to tutor English, Maths or English as an additional Language in KS1 and KS2. I have taught for 12 years and have Qualified Teacher Status. I know the National Curriculum across the primary school years. I have a qualification in Reading Recovery to help younger children struggling with reading or writing. I also can tutor in Maths KS1 and KS2. Further to this I have specialised in teaching English as an Additional Language where I was the Lead Teacher in the Department. I have gained certificates in EAL and am currently working on gaining a Tefl Qualification. I have very passionate about tutoring, making the lessons interesting and building confidence in each individual child's needs. I feel very rewarding in seeing these children to progress. I am also interested in teaching adults who are learning English, and would be happy in this tutoring role as well.

About

I am a friendly, patient, enthusiastic, positive and dedicated London-based English and literacy tutor. I have a BA (Hons) in English Literature and a PGCE in further and higher education, where I was awarded a Distinction for teaching. I have had varied and extensive experience teaching English in primary and secondary schools and in colleges of further and higher education. I have also taught English as a Second Language (ESOL). I teach students individually and also in small groups with various abilities, learning styles, strengths and weaknesses. My teaching experience comprises special educational needs (SEN) where I have worked with young people and adults who need extra support. I have taught students with complex needs and moderate learning disabilities (MLD). I personally designed and delivered a six-month program of tutoring, coaching and mentoring and successfully supported individuals facing significant personal challenges, including involuntary redundancy. A recent role was as a Functional Skills tutor and exam invigilator, where I was teaching, guiding and supporting adult learners who had returned to education to improve their skills. I currently provide private tutoring to help students develop and use reading and writing skills.
