1. City of Stars – Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling
While La La Land may not have won Best Picture at this year’s Oscars, City of Stars did win Best Original Song! We think that City of Stars is the perfect addition to any wedding playlist, especially if you and your beau can learn the dance routines!
2. Shape of You – Ed Sheeran
This is the first of two Ed Sheeran songs on our list, as he’s just released his newest album, Divide! And what’s a modern wedding without an Ed Sheeran song or two? Shape of You is upbeat and perfect for dancing at your reception.
3. Can’t Stop the Feeling! – Justin Timberlake
It’s pretty inevitable that a pop song from an animated movie becomes one of the top wedding songs each year. A few years ago it was Everything is Awesome from The Lego Movie, and this year it’s Can’t Stop the Feeling! from Trolls. Play this song at your wedding and allow Justin Timberlake to bring some high energy music to your dancing!
4. Mercy – Shawn Mendes
If you want to take a break from higher energy music, this Shawn Mendes tune is perfect. It’s a romantic song that will give your guests a chance to relax and sway to the music.
5. Chained to the Rhythm – Katy Perry
Katy Perry’s newest song is perfectly upbeat for dancing at a wedding! By the way, did you see how she promoted this song? Katy’s team installed disco balls in parks and public spaces around the world where you could listen to a snippet of the song with your headphones. You were literally chained to the rhythm by your headphone cord!
6. Love Me Now – John Legend
John Legend’s single “Love Me Now” is essentially a love letter to his wife Chrissy Teigen and their daughter Luna. It’s the perfect ballad for a wedding!
7. Castle on the Hill – Ed Sheeran
If you’re looking for a song to inspire nostalgia in your wedding guests, Castle on the Hill is perfect! In the song, Ed Sheeran remembers his childhood and teenage years, so dance along with your oldest friends and family.
8. Million Reasons – Lady Gaga
In 2016, Lady Gaga released Joanne, which is full of classic rock and folk music themes. Million Reasons is a great ballad for any type of party, but it’s perfect for a wedding! Ask your DJ or band to play it when you’re ready for some more relaxing music.
9. 24K Magic – Bruno Mars
It seems that each leading single Bruno Mars puts out is a number one hit and perfect for weddings. Last year, he released 24K Magic, which is great for dancing at your wedding. It’s so fun and will inspire your guests to dance!
10. This Town – Niall Horan
Niall Horan of One Direction released his first solo single last year and we know it’ll be a hit at weddings everywhere in 2017. Just like Castle on the Hill, This Town will inspire nostalgia in your guests. It’s also a great ballad for dancing with your loved ones.
11. Closer – The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey
Without a doubt, Closer was one of the biggest pop songs of 2016. It was even nominated for Best Pop Duo or Group Performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards! If you’re looking for a song that most of your guests will recognise and dance along to, Closer is perfect!
12. All Night – Beyoncé
We couldn’t finish this list without a Beyoncé song, especially since she released Lemonade in 2016! All Night is a beautiful song that is about her relationship with her husband, Jay Z. Unfortunately, we can’t include it in our Spotify playlist, but it’s still too good not to feature!
13. Hello – Adele
Did you think we’d leave out Adele? Hello may have been released at the end of 2015, but it’s a classic!
We hope you enjoyed our top wedding songs for 2017! We hope you dance along to them at your 2017 wedding, and we’d love to see photos if you do. You can find us on social media at @bidvine on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest!
