Hiring a Bidvine Bikram Yoga Instructor

For some, you need to work up a good sweat when you're exercising! Otherwise, it just doesn't feel like it's worth it. If you feel this way, then Bikram yoga is the exercise for you!

Like traditional yoga, Bikram yoga uses poses to work out and tone your muscles. But Bikram (or hot yoga) turns up the heat! Each session is done in a room heated to about 40°C with 40% humidity. This can make it feel very intense!

Each Bikram studio follows the same 90-minute pattern of 26 poses and breathing exercises. Hot yoga will use the same high temperatures but the teacher may change up the routine.

Since the heat of the room warms up your muscles, you'll get a great range of motion as soon as you begin! The room increases your heart rate and metabolism to help burn extra calories during a session. This can increase blood flow and improve circulation. And all the sweating can help promote weight loss.

Most Bikram yoga is done in group classes which may have just a few people or a larger group. If you're just starting out, a smaller class may be more comfortable.

Look for a teacher with formal training and experience leading Bikram yoga and one whose teaching style suits your learning style. With a top-notch professional you’ll be better able to settle in and learn.

Goals: Increase Flexibility, Weight Loss, Tone Muscles, Help With an Injury
Class Length: 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never taken a yoga class before, can I still take Bikram Yoga classes?

Bikram yoga will give you a cardiovascular workout and can be a great way for beginners to introduce themselves to yoga.

Your instructor will lead by guiding you through the poses and breathing exercises. These poses can be different than in other yoga practice. Still, many instructors offer beginner friendly lessons so that you'll still be able to keep up with the class.

Make sure you listen to your body and take it easy the first time you try Bikram. It's okay to sit down and rest if you need to.

Bikram yoga is an excellent way to work out your muscles. Give it a try, you'll be feeling loose and relaxed and glad you did!

What are the benefits of Bikram Yoga?

One of the biggest benefits of Bikram yoga is the heat! Working out in higher temperatures helps your muscles relax so that you feel more flexible. This will energise you and leave you feeling refreshed after your sessions as the heat helps flush out your body's toxins. It will also help you reconnect your body and mind.

Regular practice can also help your balance and conditioning. Bikram can help if you're dealing with chronic pain like arthritis or other joint and body aches as well. Though if you do have pre-existing medical conditions it is always important to check with your medical professional first, before trying new fitness routines.

Bikram targets your core muscles with a range of yoga positions. The poses are designed to push and pull your muscles gently to create strength so that you get a great workout.

What equipment do I need to practise Bikram Yoga?

Getting ready for a Bikram class? Make sure to remember your favourite yoga mat! You may also want to bring along a towel to keep yourself feeling fresh. Then a water bottle is also a must as it will help to keep you hydrated.

You want to move and sweat freely, so avoid restrictive and baggy clothing. Avoid cotton fabrics as they will absorb moisture and make you uncomfortable. Your usual yoga gear will do the job excellently.
