The Classics

This style of photography is timeless and striking. It’s called classic for a reason! Photos in this style are a little formal but will look natural. Black and white or sepia-toned prints are a great way to finish off your classic photos.

You can also ask your photographer for a modern update on classic poses. They’ll make you look beautiful in photos as you go throughout your day.

  • A simple moment as the couple hold hands and walk together
  • Bride and groom gazing into each other’s eyes
  • The bride posing in her gown in the family home
  • The bride’s reflection in a mirror

Candid Photos

Always a popular style, candid photography can bring life to your wedding memories! With some direction, your photographer can make your photos look natural. It’s a great way to showcase your personality as a couple. You’ll look back on your photos and remember how much you enjoyed your day!

  • The couple toasting their future with a glass of champagne
  • A mid-speech shot from the best man or parents
  • In-the-moment shots as the bride and groom greet guests
  • Reactions during the dinner and speeches
  • Getting ready and throwing the bouquet

Artistic

If you want to make your wedding photos unique, you may want a photographer with an artistic touch. Film-inspired editing will give you tasteful shots to remember your day with. Artistic photos allow you to let your love shine through for photos you’ll love.

  • Pick out a quirky location like a coffee shop for a memorable backdrop
  • Have the bride and groom hold hands in a soft-focus romantic shot
  • Shoot the groom’s “first look” at the bride from over the bride’s shoulder
  • Go to a forest or meadow and set the couple in a unique setting
  • Use photoshop to adjust lighting and focus on beautiful photo effects

Nature

Nature can make an excellent backdrop for your photos! Take advantage of the beautiful grounds at your ceremony or reception venue. Or if you’re preparing at home, your lawn and gardens can make for stunning photos.

  • Toss leaves in the air in autumn
  • Brave the cold for a beautiful wintry scene
  • Add seasonal accessories to the gown like a fur stole or mittens
  • Sunny skies? Put the wedding party in matching sunglasses
  • Umbrellas make a great prop on a rainy day. Your photographer may have weather-appropriate props at the ready

  • Focus on the gown’s details, like embroidery, buttons, or lace
  • Feature the accessories in a shot, either on their own or in a beautiful setup
  • Shoot the dress from the rear to capture an impressive train or ruffle
  • Get the bride in a fashion-forward pose to showcase the gown
  • Don’t forget to get the groomsmen in a lineup to get their dapper duds
