1. Alnwick Castle
Featured in: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (pictured), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Robin Hood
Alnwick Castle appeared as parts of Hogwarts during the first two Harry Potter films. So if you’d like to have your wedding photos taken in the same spot that Harry, Ron, and Hermione took flying lessons, Alnwick Castle is the spot for you.
This beautiful venue is the seat of the Duke of Northumberland and is a Grade I listed building. It was built in the 11th century and is open to the public during the summer. Alnwick Castle has also appeared in Downton Abbey, making it a quintessentially British wedding venue.

2. Blenheim Palace

We know what you’re thinking. These two castles look nothing alike! That’s because Blenheim Palace served as the inspiration for the royal palace in Kenneth Branagh’s remake of Cinderella. The castle was actually created with CGI, making it look unlike anything in the United Kingdom or abroad.
Blenheim Palace is quite a popular filming location and has appeared in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Spectre, and many more films. It’s also a beautiful wedding venue that can accommodate grand or intimate weddings depending on your room selection.

3. Chatsworth House

How beautiful is Chatsworth House? We’re sure your wedding photos will look perfect at this idyllic venue. Chatsworth House can accommodate 80 guests, ensuring that each of your loved ones will feel special and important.
Chatsworth House has appeared in Pride and Prejudice and The Duchess, so why not have a wedding picnic on the grounds (like Keira Knightley in the photos above) before your wedding? Your guests will love the charming grounds of this beautiful venue, and you will too!

4. Cornwell Manor

If you’ve always dreamt of recreating The Holiday on your wedding day, here’s your chance! Cornwell Manor starred in the 2006 film as the location of Iris and Graham’s picturesque English lunch date.

5. Old Royal Naval College

You might think that a film based in France would be filmed in France. But in the case of 2012’s Les Misérables, you’d be wrong. The film was actually shot in England, with many pivotal scenes taking place at London’s Old Royal Naval College.
The ORNC has also appeared in Skyfall, the 2015 remake of Cinderella, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. If you’re looking for an extravagant and beautiful wedding venue, the ORNC is perfect for you. Located in Greenwich, it is quite close to central London and is licensed for civil ceremonies.

6. University of Oxford Divinity School

Would you like to hold your wedding in the same room that Harry and Ron learned how to dance in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? We bet you would! The beautiful Divinity School at the University of Oxford played many parts in the Harry Potter series, including a dance studio.
If you choose to get married at the University of Oxford, there are many chapels on the campus that can perform your wedding ceremony. While you can’t exactly say “I do” on Platform 9 3/4, hosting your wedding reception at Searcys St Pancras Grand is pretty close. The beautiful restaurant and champagne bar overlooks London’s St. Pancras Kings Cross station, allowing your guests panoramic views of the beautiful station.You can even see the trolley heading to Platform 9 3/4 if you look for it!

11 TV Filming Locations in the UK for Your Wedding Photos
1. Belfast Botanic Gardens
Featured in: The Fall
Now, BBC’s The Fall is not the most romantic series on television. In fact, it’s probably one of the least romantic or cheery. But, the show is set in Belfast and features many beautiful locations. The first location we’ve chosen to feature is the Belfast Botanic Gardens, where Paul took his daughter during the first series of the show.

2. Bluebird Restaurant
Featured in: Made in Chelsea
How could we have a list of TV and film locations that are also wedding venues and not include anything from Made in Chelsea? We couldn’t, that’s how!
The Bluebird Restaurant in Chelsea is one of the Made in Chelsea crew’s main haunts, and we can understand why. It’s a beautiful restaurant that can host up to 230 of your closest friends and family members for your big day. You can host both your reception and ceremony at the Bluebird, too, as they can accommodate civil ceremonies.

3. Castle Ward

If you’d like to get married on the grounds of Winterfell from Game of Thrones, Castle Ward is the wedding venue for you. The grounds of Castle Ward appeared as Winterfell’s castle yard and gates, with other parts of Winterfell being filmed in a studio near Belfast.
Castle Ward is perfect for large weddings, as the venue can accommodate up to 170 of your closest friends and family. The venue is maintained by the National Trust and was built in the 18th century as the home of Bernard Ward, 1st Viscount Bangor. The castle itself features two different styles of architecture (one on each side) that meet in the middle of the home.

4. The Dark Hedges

Imagine these intertwining trees adorned with whatever you need to make the perfect wedding photo. Then imagine your wedding photos in this location. Doesn’t that sound perfect?
If the Dark Hedges look familiar to Game of Thrones viewers, they should! Most of the Game of Thrones filming takes place in a studio near Belfast, so it makes sense that they would want to utilise the rest of Northern Ireland, as well. The Dark Hedges appeared in the first episode of the second series of HBO’s Game of Thrones, as Arya, along with others, journeyed along the road to escape to the Night’s Watch.

5. Doctor Who Experience

This is the first of two Doctor Who-related venues or wedding photo locations on our list. The Doctor Who Experience is a perfect wedding venue for the couple who can’t get enough of the show. 6. Goldney Hall Orangery
Featured in: Sherlock
Would you like to get married at the same venue as Dr John Watson from Sherlock? Of course, you would! That’s why we’re including the Orangery at Goldney Hall on our list of film locations that double as wedding venues. You can recreate the Sherlock wedding with your own loved ones at this beautiful venue!
Located on the campus of the University of Bristol, the Orangery at Goldney Hall feels secluded and private. While your wedding photos are being taken, you can even treat your wedding guests to a tour of the grotto led by a member of the Orangery’s knowledgeable staff.

7. Highclere Castle

Highclere Castle has quickly become one of the most iconic castles in all of the United Kingdom. It served as the home to the fictional Crawley family from Downton Abbey for six series. It also appeared in Jeeves and Wooster, starring Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.
This beautiful venue is a Grade I listed building and is the country seat of the Earl of Carnarvon. Your wedding at Highclere Castle can be intimate or large and fabulous, and the venue can accommodate up to 140 guests. Even if you’re not getting married, you can visit Highclere Castle during the summer months.

8. Holdsworth House
Featured in: Last Tango in Halifax
If you’d like to get married at the same venue as Alan and Celia from Last Tango in Halifax, you’ll need to say “I do” at Holdsworth House! This beautiful venue in West Yorkshire was home to many scenes in the second series of Last Tango in Halifax, most notably Alan and Celia’s wedding.
Holdsworth House is a beautiful hotel and wedding venues that would be perfect for your wedding. The venue can accommodate up to 120 of your guests and has 38 guest rooms for your overnight guests. 10. Roald Dahl Plass
Featured in: Doctor Who, Torchwood
If you’d like your wedding photos to feature an iconic location from the Doctor Who universe, Roald Dahl Plass is a great choice! Roald Dahl Plass is known around Cardiff as being the site of the entrance to Torchwood Three, a branch of the Torchwood Institute.
While you cannot get married at Roald Dahl Plass, it is a quick jaunt away from the Doctor Who Experience if you want to take your wedding to the next level.
